1. Welcome to Basschat. Good luck finding an amp. Should be plenty of second hand one to choose from. I suppose you want something that would be suitable for gigging as well as home practice? When I'm not playing bass I like to ride my motorbike. I toured Scotland last year and have fond memories of riding the A9 from Inverness one morning during an almighty rain storm. It was like the lights had been turned off and a waterfall appeared.
2. You can buy the LED PAR lights singularly and mount them to the speaker poles I suppose. We bought 2 for our band for around £70 but place them on the floor to compliment our T-bar.
3.
Saw them in the early 90s , they where fantastic , can't believe they are still doing it , I really should try to go again
+1 but for me it was the late 80's
4.
Can we now use the word "guitard" again?
I think the jury is still out on that one!
5. I have used Skype for business conference calls and there can be a bit of time delay going on with the audio. Give it a go and see what happens for you. Good luck. Hopefully technology can help you out
6. A sad story and end to a life. I have started to suffer slightly from it since NYE. I now use ear plugs at gigs and have been to see my doctor and audiologist.
7.
Are you referring to the use of that particular word, which is based on an offensive term, or just deriding fellow musicians who play guitar?
The use of that word. Glad I'm not alone in my dislike for it. I'm not going worry too much. It's just slightly annoying for me when I read it in a post. The usual mixed response so far which is good. Bring on the banter eh!
8. This is something that has been bugging me for a while now so here we go. There is a tendency by some to refer to a guitarist here as a guitard. We all know what this means and personally I find it quite offensive. I have had the pleasure of working with many fantastic guitarist and none of them would fall into this category. I'm I being too PC or just overreacting? What do others feel about this term?
9.
At sound check and the beginning of each set unless I think it sounds out then I'll check it again, silently of course. Guitarist is another matter.
Me too.

Ages to type!

Quite often get this at work when I'm logged on during lunchtime. Windows 7 pro with mega spec and IE. I don't have Chrome to check as a comparison yet. It's very frustrating and I tend to just browse in that case.
11. Had to listen to War Pigs as its in our set too. Cracking song and fun to play. Also see you do Crazy Train too, which is also in our set! The music is well tight for a live take. The 2 songs seems a bit fast though but work. The singers voice is unusual and there is something about him which i like but also something i don't. I would have to see you live and what his stage presence is. If he can be a real front man he should be ok. I will have to listen to the rest another time but what you have done is great. Shameless plug for our Soundcloud tracks which feature live gig recordings or War Pigs & Crazy Train. I used a cheap Line 6 BackTrack so the quality isn't great. https://soundcloud.com/carl-mepsted
12. Buy the tool off eBay and do it yourself. I did one of my basses. The tool is quite cheap and if you are careful is easy enough.
13.
welcome from Teignmouth! If you check out the used section in Mansons, there are some bargains to be had, I find Project musics bass selection pretty dire TBH
A friend of mine always gets good second hand amps and cabs at Mansons.
14. Hi and welcome to the forum. Glad you have seen the light and going for the bass. Enjoy it and the BC community.
15. Just get on with your agenda. Maybe she will feel like a gooseberry. Annoying though.
16. Very clefer
17. That's quite a set of problems. I have suffered from blocked up ears before and usually both at the same time or one then the other in quick succession. I did by an online ear syringe which is a small plastic bottle which concertinas in and out. It worked really well and first time to clear my ear after using some bicarbonate of soda drops to loosen the wax.
18. Blimy. Heavy as a pile of rocks then!
19. Wow. I was chewing over either a 210 or 212 some time ago and went with the 210, which I bought off funkshui here. No regrets as it a great cab and so small and lightweight. I can feel my GAS level rising looking at this baby.
20. If you are only using that cab then get the 4ohm conversion. You will be living in barefaced heaven. I'm blown away by what 210 can deliver.
21. Go Your Own way is a blast to play. The chorus is fantastic. Been in our set for a few years and always goes down well.
22. The dot to the left of the thread title will take you to the last post you read but will not skip to the last page or post. I don't think there is a way to do what you want on the mobile site.
23. I only have these for now. I'm due another hearing test soon and will discuss some moulded plugs as that would be the better long term solution.
24. I too ride a motorbike but use the generic foam plugs for that. Got a bag full which will keep me going. Not sure I would want to use expensive plugs on a bike. I'm using Flare Isolate plugs for gigging currently
25. They do not muffle the sound just cut the volume and some frequencies. My bass and the drums sound great. Had to get something quick after getting tinnitus at new year and these do the job for now.
