1.
My first proper head was that and i loved it, but it just weighed so much.
Yup. The weight is the one single solitary thing I dislike about it.
 2. Having read Shrek's post about his underperforming Warwick head, I thought I'd post a little something in praise of the ancient but still completely trusty Hartke 3500 head I bought from Brycebites (remember him? wish he was still here) many years ago, and which I use for rehearsals and small gigs. Christ, it's loud. I mean, really. If I use it with one of my 8Ω Nemesis cabs it's supposedly only delivering 180 watts, but good god it delivers it well. And with both cabs, it's fackin huuuuge. Sometimes I think about flogging it and getting something else, but then I think... why? It definitely ain't broke, so why try to fix it? It's great. Anyone else got some Hartke lurrrve?
 3. With regard to the licensing/frequencies thingy... how is this likely to affect the older VHF units? My old AKG SR100 -- picked up for peanuts off fleaBay, and absolutely brilliant -- is trundling along nicely on 175.0MHz, but what's going to happen?
 4.
As for Mark's sound on Ohne Filter... well, he was going through an Ashdown.
5. Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue". That clarinet intro...
 6. If it's old skool funk, got to be a J/P/Ray I reckon.
 7.
New band or piccolo bass? Or, of course, do a Dood and go lower still.
Hey, it's the SallyDoodle nearly-twins lovely to see them again.
 8. Ahhh, Dequssy. This is one of my favourite pieces of qlissed-out piano music. It is so qeautiful that it always gives me goosequmps and qrings a tear to my eye... unfortunately said tear has fallen from my eye and into my keyqoard where it seems to have caused a qit of a fault, in that every time I press the 'q' key it comes up as 'q'. So thanks a qloody qunch.
 9. List bump: Baboom MacDaddy Mickeyboro OG Skinz molan
 10.
School stage, lunchtime "concert"
snap
House of the Rising Sun, Noname semi, tastefully decorated in hippy swirls of humbrol paints for airfix airplane kits.. Through a Baker "DIY" 30 watt all valve amp and home made 1x15 cab. I was 13
In my case, the song was the Quo's 'Caroline' played on my '64 Höfner Artist II (bought from metalwork teacher for £20) through a DIY 50w amp made with help from physics teacher, plus home-made 1x15 cab borrowed from same metalwork teacher. I still have the Höfner
 11. Squier HM 5, a bit like this but with 5 strings. Not a truly dreadful bass really, but the tone was somewhat lacking and the string spacing was too tight. And it had a stupid pointy headstock, which I hate. Was a good introduction to 5 strings though.
 12. Yup, more love for synth bass here too. I used to have an old Roland SH-09 monosynth, made some wonderful phat pharty sounds... wish to christ I'd never got rid
 13. Jakko Jakszyk's "Bruised Romantic Glee Club". Absolutely wonderful.
 14. I've just had a very satisfactory quote from The Decal Shop for some replacement old-style Overwater logos. I asked Chris May first, but unfortunately the only ones he has left are so old that they fall apart when you try to soak them.
 15.
Yaaaaayyyy!!! Does this mean I am officially the ugliest bassist in the country?
Yup.
 16. Just a gentle reminder as it seems to have been forgotten/ignored again: [b]Rules and Guidelines for the Marketplace Guidelines for BUYERS 5. 17.
If asked I play electric bass not a bass guitar.
What would you say if you played one of these?
 18.
Cool, will do. It's only happened a handful of times so i've not gone too deep and gynecological about it yet, when it does stop and then kick in again there is a chunky tha-doomp, which would imply something along the lines of power issues. Cheers, (I'll shoot off now, before i acciddently hijack this thread...).
Battery clip definitely your first port of call. They are the Achilles' heel for every active bass. If it turns out to be innocent, get thee to the Gallery in Camden.
 19.
Ooo, was that aimed at my opinion or just generally ?
Good god no, just a general observation.
 20. Opinions are like arseholes, in that everybody's got one. When you think yours is the only valid opinion, you start being an arsehole. I've always liked 'Lady Madonna' myself.
 21.
McCartney was the best drummer.
He certainly wasn't the worst
 22. So these three are all the same thing? Wow, I'm really confused now.
 23.
This is an electric bass guitar.......................................................
But the tuning is exactly the same as a P bass, albeit with two extra top strings. So what makes this a 'guitar', and a Precision not?
and this is an electric bass:
But so is this: Are you saying there are more similarities between this and a P bass, than between the P bass and the Bass VI?
