  1. I was after one of these KK Traditional ones a few months ago, and got Kris to E Mail me a price list. But since have seen a Modulus bass I’ve been after for years, so going for that- or I’ll regret it. Good luck with the sale mate- these are great
  2. Difficult to price this one really . Price drop to £200
  3. 1963 Framus Star bass - ala Wyman I've had this for over 30 years , and it's just sat around . The Framus name badge on the headstock top , has got half of the gold lettering missing . Also missing is part of a knob . I'm really not sure how playable this is , in a real world scenario , as the strings are just too floppy . May be good for someone who is a collector of these old European basses , and can source the odd bit to replace ; or someone who wants to have something nice to hang on a man cave wall . This is quite fragile , and I have absolutely no way of getting this packed up - let alone trust one of our Courier friends . So pick up only really - or I can travel to meet halfway up to a point . If it's pick up , I can do Bank Transfer or PayPal . But if it's meeting up , it'll have to be cash , as I don't roll will a smartphone . Thanks for looking . Paul

  5. One of my regular gigs, The Pickeral- with my last band
  6. It’s long gone. I messaged last year, and was long gone even then
  7. I like that. But what’s the world come to, where cabs are now lighter that heads he he
  8. I haven’t bought Q magazine for over 20 years now. Unsure if they’re still printing
  9. I used to listen to the original CS&N young album all the time- God like harmonies on that. An old article in Q magazine years ago did make me laugh though. They’d changed CSN&Y, to CRA&P he he. Bit unfair, but I did laugh

    Drop C#

I used to use these to drop down on certain songs - they are quite heavy though . D'Addario EXL160BT Nickel Wound Balanced Tension Bass Strings 50-120 (stringsdirect.co.uk)
  11. You are - but you're saving the rest of us the trouble of typing . I'll add .... stunning
  12. Met Ian last night , when he bought the bass I said I'd never sell . Had to be done . Lovely guy . We talked bass , as you do , but he was in the middle of a night job , so time was short . Payment was super swift , and I had it before I even thought I would . Wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again .
  13. Price drop to £1000. Come and grab a lovely full fat Sterling, with the rare piezo option. There really can’t be many of these around at all.
  14. Could meet up at South Mimms , or Epping station
  15. I know . It was like new when I had it (guy who had it built, only probably had it for a couple of years) , and I've owned it for nearly 30 years now . Every mark on the body is mine - back of the neck is still as smooth as it left the factory . It'll be a bass I'll remember forever , but it's not going to get played at all . As much as it'll upset me to sell it , and it will , I have to be brutal about it . Hopefully meeting up with someone in a few days . I'll probably end up like Mr Travis , and try and buy it back in 10 years .
  16. Yep , no truss rod .
  17. Musicman Stingray Modulus hybrid . Culling my 4 strings , and now selling the bass that I said , I'd never sell . I bought this in around '92 , as a fretless . Had a matched fretted one , but missed out at the last minute on that . Guy I bought it off wanted Modulus necks on his Stingrays , and shipped in two Modulus Quantum necks direct from the factory . He kept the MM hardware , and electrics , and got Rodger Giffin , to make him a more fancy topped body . Stuck all the electrics back in and fitted the neck . The neck is one of the old Quantum trussrod free ones . Needed it fretted , and only person who was willing to do it , was a guy called Steve Smith from Southend - there's a thread somewhere mentioning him . I can only assume that the frets are stainless , as in 27 years of hard gigging , I've only had one fret dress up - around 10 years ago , by Martin Booth . I have gigged this hard from '93 to 2020 . Had a large collection over the years , but this was the only bass I ever used , as I could do anything on it . Don't worry about having a bass relic'ed for you - I've saved you the trouble . I used to have heavy 'downtune' strings on this , and dropping from low E to a C , holds really well - better than many 5's I've had . Modulus neck # - 880641 MM Bridge # B022379 Weight on scales - 10lbs I have this in a double gigbag , that has another bass in it , so alas , I have no case or bag to go with this . It'll be a gut wrench for this to go , as it's been my mate for close 30 years now , but as I've now gone 'full 5' , it'll never be gigged again . Difficult to price this , as it's sort of a 'one off' , but I reckon £850 is about right . I can travel a bit to meet half way , and would prefer cash really . Thanks . Paul .
  18. It was sold , then it wasn't . It's currently on hold for a guy in Manchester (I'm in Norfolk) , who's coming down to pick it up in October kid's Half Term . I know it's a way off , but I promised him 2nd dibs . I can let you know if it falls through .
  19. Yes that’ll stop the hum. But really should someone have to do this with a bass at this price point?
  20. They are big shoes to fill . Lexxi was really good - on many levels
  21. It's in South Norfolk - IP26 5DS postcode
  22. I’ve had mine now for months, and always wondered what strings were on it. Are these the brand and gauge then?
  23. I’m in mid East Anglia. Could meet you in the middle
