Well I've had 3 of them, (in an effort to get the colour I wanted), and haven't had a problem at all. I am a serial tinkerer, so can assure you the truss rods got tweaked quite a bit. They are the "swiss army knife" of basses, made by Cort, ( as are Laklands, some Fenders, Ibanez etc.), and I did a comparison with a US one and couldn't tell any difference. It isn't a problem that has cropped up here as far as I know.

I got a "Fecker Pretender Bass" decal for a P Bass. Really looked the biz. I'll try and dig out the guy that makes them if you want. He did "Jizz Bass" ones as well.

Wow, love to be considered. Have you tried Elixir strings before? Yes, but on a bass that didn't belong to me. What other brands are you familiar with? Rotosound, D'Addario, Dean Markley, SIT, Elites, Dunlop, Marlleaux What bass(es) will you try the new strings on? More than likely one of my 2 ACG's and "Marvin", the Carvin/Marlleaux clone. What sort of environment will you be playing them in (e.g studio, gigging, practicing) Gigging and rehearsals, practicing and the occasional jam night. Why do you think you'll be a good candidate to test the strings? I play in a 65+ gigs a year band so they will get plenty of "real life" action. Having tried a good many brands already I am a good position to compare against what is already on the market. I love testing new products as I already do some of this. Links to any blogs/reviews you may have already posted (not essential but interesting) http://basschat.co.uk/topic/19656-zoot-retro-speaker-cabs/ http://basschat.co.uk/topic/177014-nbd-a-corberg-or-is-it-a-sanort/ http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g580270-d7117293-r248806393-The_Phoenician_Golf_Restaurant-Mojacar_Province_of_Almeria_Andalucia.html#REVIEWS http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g274707-d624479-r248797349-Eurostars_David-Prague_Bohemia.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT

Old Trafford Cricket Ground...not a music venue...
BassBunny replied to Muzz's topic in General Discussion
I think the problem with Old Trafford CC is down to the recent development. There have been some massive concerts there and I've never heard any bad press. Originally at least 2/3 of the ground was open, with just the Clubhouse and a large stand at one end. Since they developed it, (so as to get a Test Match), it is just like a "bowl" -
Good Spot. I've booked the Manchester one.

If you are buying new, any amp bought in the EU has a 2 yr warranty. Standard MB is 2 years, can't be sure about TC. If you buy from Thomann you get 3 years. Regarding the 2 Amps, I've had a Little Mark for about 6 years now. I've tried just about everything else on the market including the TC RH450 and I'm am a MarkBass man through and through. I also play in a function band and it does it for me. What is worth trying to find out is if the recent change by MB to put the Class D power amp out of the Big Bang into the LM range has changed the sound. I do not get on with Class D at all, (hence not liking the TC and all other Class D amps), but love the Class A/B of the Little Mark.
It was Real Electronics. Including time spent communicating with the retailer it took about 3 weeks.
That is a real surprise, (No pun intended). We have used them and they have been nothing other than superb. Appreciate you are a bit hacked off with the whole situation but I would honestly send a snotagram to Mark Bass as, a) You have a product of theirs, that having been repaired, you are not 100% satisfied with, and you should be as it is still under warranty. They need to know what Real are doing. Real are their reps in the UK and at the moment they are making MB look bad. For the sake of the odd email, you never know how MB will react.
-
Be interested to know who repaired it as Real Electronics are the UK authorised repairer for MB and all I have heard about them is excellent. They usually turn things round in a matter of days, so could be the retailer got it fixed elsewhere.

Next Moffat Bass Bash is about a year off, so you would need to be very patient. I'm with Mudpup. Minimal outlay until you know what you want. It might pay to get a train down to Bass Direct and check out everything Marc has on offer. Could be considered wasted money but could stop you making the wrong decition and wasting even more.

I'm in South Mancester. Bring it over and I'll resolder it for nowt.

Roland Cube, the K/B version. Our K/B player has been using one for years. Crazy loud.

+1 for Steve Robinson Also Ged Green is great. http://www.gedgreen.co.uk -
The MarkBass distributor is based in Swallowfield - almost on Hampshire border I think. Not sure if this is where repairs are carried out though.
Nope repairs are done in Sheffield by Real Electronics. They also repair TC Electronic, Roland and more.

All electrical goods sold in the EU should have a 2yr. warranty. The EU directive in question is 1999/44/EC. The important bit is this: 'A two-year guarantee applies for the sale of all consumer goods everywhere in the EU. In some countries, this may be more, and some manufacturers also choose to offer a longer warranty period.' Read more: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-1677034/Two-year-warranty-EU-law.html#ixzz3XqKleNH8 Sure MarkBass gear has always had 2yr warranty.
I'm feeling like adding a more modern bass too. The Cort Arona looks like my kind of bag . According to the reviews I've been reading they only weigh between 7.5 - 8lbs, and that's the 5 string! (in the open pore swamp ash that is, not sure what the alder would weigh in at). Designed in collaboration with Sandberg, same story with Delano regarding it's pickups. Looks great, punchy as hell with it's MM/J config, from the vids I've seen. Boom! Active / passive switching too, all for less than 500 quid: http://www.cortguita.../product/arona4
I used to have a Cort Arona. Great basses and I played a trick on Drew from Manchestre Bass lounge when I took it show him. Covered the headstock up and asked him what it was. "A Sandberg", was his reply. When all said and done it's a Sandberg Basic to all intents and purposes. Also had 3 G&L L2500's. They are the Swiss Army Knife of Basses. So many different settings/tones you can't go wrong and also made by Cort. Also had an MTD and if you liked the feel of that you might not get on with a Lakland. Don't know what it is about Lakland necks, they just don't do it for me but the MTD neck is superb.

Elites 4 and 5 string sets, 2 for £20 with free postage
BassBunny replied to lemmywinks's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
The seller IS Promenade Music according to my PayPal account. -
I'm with BoB on this. If it is still working, then it is unlikely to be a transformer from the Amp circuit so most likely from a x-over of some kind. Depending on which model would dictate exactly what it could do.

Cheap Streamliner for the DIY'er?
BassBunny replied to ern500evo's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Thought it might have been advertised on here if it's the same one. Have no idea how much the parts would be but could be a cheap amp for someone who is happy to take on the repair themselves.
The issue could be getting the parts now Fender have offloaded GB. -
The Standback is excellent with most guitar combos, but not great with most bass gear due to the deeper cabinets. The proportions just aren't right for it. It supports your cab at a set angle, and it will only work if your cab wants to fall backwards at this angle, not if it wants to fall forwards.
+1. I bought one and it wouldn't work with any of my cabs. Resorted to a MarkStand.

Alternative (conventional design) to the MarkBass LittleMark2 sound
BassBunny replied to gillento's topic in Amps and Cabs
I know what you are going through G. I fell in love with MB amps some 8 yrs ago. I tried to find something "similar" as a back-up and must have tried everything on the market and gave up. Decided that only MarkBass amps sound like MarkBass, so I now have 2. An SA450 and LMIII in my CMD121 Combo. Same amp section just a few more controls on th eSA450. -
Reading through this if I've got it right, it worked for around 5mins it is unlikely to be the voltage problem mentioned, unless you have physically changed the setting. You know the wall socket is OK, the kettle lead is OK, so unless it has fried, likely to be a fuse inside. Most manufacturers will hsve a mains fuse somewhere to ensure the correct protection as it is easy to pick up a kettle lead with a 13 amp fuse instead of a 3 amp. Unfortunately as Fender have "assett stripped" Genz and sold the remains on, there doesn't seem to be any support, in spite of the fact that the amp is guarenteed for 3 years. So the choices appear to be to get inside yourself and see if there is a fuse, or try Real Electronics, they provide support for TC Electronic, Roland, Mark Bass etc. and may be prepared to have a look. I know plenty of people in the NW who would be prepared to have a look.
