  1. They also have a massive listener-base, regardless of what people think of streaming in general (separate conversation), even just on Spotify they have 1.3 million monthly listeners. 1.3 million (more actually) individuals around the world listen to him play bass every month. Again, like them or not, THAT is what will get you a signature bass. He's also pretty bloody good at big guitar. And Jack is a very clever business mind, again, like him or not (you don't know him remember). Quite frankly, I think they're doing what they need to have a career in music VERY well. Si
  2. Oh totally, fully understand that, especially with Markbass stuff , as I mentioned, it all sounds great to my ears so I'm happy for now. With regards to power-amp only setup, it wasn't that I didn't like the tone I was getting (Noble pre straight to power amp), it was that the GR amp has a particularly loud fan which I wasn't enjoying live. So a functional issue rather than tonal one. Si
  3. Bit of both, it's on my board last in the chain so it goes into my amp, if PA support is required, it runs into the PA as well. I basically run my LM2 head flat at all times, the 'vintage' guff completely off etc. I wanted to go down the route of just a power-amp, tried the GR Pureamp 800 for that, but that wasn't up to standard (IMO), would love to try out the Trickfish Bullhead Mini, which isn't just a power amp of course, but super clean/transparent by all accounts. Perhaps when life costs settle down a bit, luckily everything sounds great at the mo. Si
  4. I gigged my Midwestern at the weekend (mine is with the B90 though) and it's just a wonderful feeling and sounding bass. It always get's compliments for the sound! You can hear it on this track should you be interested: Oh and here's mine: Si
  5. Get on the FL’s for that price! Best flats in all the land! Si
  6. Just for the benefit of the OP who might not necessarily be getting the jokes, the correct answer is indeed Backing Vocals Si
  7. I guess it might have something to do with the digital power section on the LM3, where the LM2 was analogue. Si
  8. I feel like the guitarist probably should realise if the OP has been consistently asking them to help the band be good haha. Similarly, the singer sounds like she's equally not fussed. If there was a connection with the original drummer who has bailed because of the others.....follow that. Si
  9. I think you've hit the nail on the head here. Two different types of musicians, those who have fun by being in good bands, and those who have fun by being in bands who aren't fussed about being good. Both are legitimate....if you like.......just gotta choose your lane. Si
  10. I'd just bail and see if the previous drummer wanted to do something, find some musicians who do want to take it seriously. Si
  11. Which of us is comparing a festival set mix to a bespoke artist-led production mix? 😇 That minor detail aside, we're comparing the difference between a (albeit passive) Stringray and a Jazz, they sound different, simple as that. The festival set, the bass is present and supportive (tonally) throughout the whole gig, job done, how it compares subjectively to a Stringray is kinda a moot point.....unless you wanna get all Talkbass about it. Si
  12. Were the pickups too high perhaps? Lower those pickups and get them away from the strings to tame it a bit I reckon. Si
  13. Yeah, if in doubt, stay away. Si
  14. Looks like they sold, did you get them? Si
  15. Very cool, all the basses sound amazing, love me some La Bella flats on Precisions. Completely understand him wanting to keep the last Lakland untouched, it means a lot to him to keep the last instrument his dad touched as it was for as long as possible. Si
  16. And I think ‘65 being the last year Fender used Brazilian Rosewood too. Si
  17. Very cool! Would love one with that spec! Si
  18. What's your white P there @BassAgent? Si
  19. @QuatschmacherThanks, yes had seen this. This would be way way at the top of what I'd want to pay, so the colour being wrong (for what I want) kinda kills it. Sure it won't be around for long though. Si
  20. Yeah looks to be a bit all over the place. The decal is mid-late 70's, early 70's/late 60's had the model name in a larger font (as per the bass book picture above). So if all things are legit (questionable at this point), it's a mid-late 70's neck with some muddled 'transition' features haha. Ie possible crossover with no bullet-truss but early logo. Fender were all over the place by that point, so it's possible. The cynic in me would leave it alone unless the price was particularly excellent AND it was a great playing/sounding bass. Si
  21. Really great basses. Whoever buys it will get a fantastic 60’s spec bass with an incredible feeling roasted neck, on par with the likes of Moollon and Olinto IMO. Si
  22. I don’t blame you 😊 Si
  23. If you ever think you might sell that, let me know Si
