  1. I’m not sure we can call it a like-for-like comparison with the Noble if you need a 3rd party DI to go straight to board haha (good call on the Orchid though). I think they’re just very different beasts, this is a general use Pre, the Noble is a B-15 soundalike. I’d say the Noble is way more pedalboard friendly, it looks smaller than TBT and also powers 6 other pedals. But I’ve certainly heard good things tonally from TBT. Si
  2. I’m with you, gimme a ‘B’ neck any day of the week. Si
  3. I will own another US Lakkie 44-64 one day, but with their ‘tweener neck (B width, 1.6”). Si
  4. Think this is my old one, did you get it from Classic & Cool Guitars @Hutton? Really nice bass! Si
  5. Ano Gold, tort or black I think! Depends on your general anesthetic haha, I vibe with the more punky/rock side of life, so I’d be going black. Si
  6. Typically the gig got cancelled because of illness, so at least I have a bit more time to test it. Thanks very much. Si
  7. Hey all, I’m getting a bit confused with how to route the following. Quite simply I want to run one output completely dry out to my amp, and one output with an added Cab sim going to my DI for FOH (and my IEMs). Any thoughts? This is where I got to, but can’t test until I get to the gig, so would be helpful to get it right haha. Cheers Si

Yes, found that one, but would prefer not to vero, and I can't etch......so holding out for a PCB haha. Maybe I'll crack out Eagle again and see if I can lay it out. Been a few years though. Si

Amazing! Thanks for the above, I hadn’t seen those no. Si

Has anyone found a good DIY kit for a cool Ring Mod pedal? Preferably a PCB, I’m not really set up for vero at the moment. Also maybe looking for a Phat Phuk B DIY PCB, but think that’s a little less likely, seen a couple of questionable vero layouts. I have googled, but incase anyone knows any other ideas lurking around. Thanks Si
  11. Had my Serek out for a gig on Saturday just gone. While I KNOW it's an amazing bass....it never fails to surprise me how good it actually is, how fun it is. Love it! Was a fantastic gig!

My Serek MW is so easy to play and weighs zip all (about 7 pounds). Such a pleasant bass to gig, never fighting against it

      Mine’s a bit heavier at 7.5lbs, purely because it’s all Walnut @Clarky

  12. Haha, yes a house (and more recently IVF) is exactly the reason why there’s not an MW2 5er on order for me. Great shout on moving it to the P position, right up my street, I shall keep that in mind for the future! Si
  13. Oh that’s wonderful! I have a Midwestern 4 string and a 30” MW2 5er is my next want! Interesting pickup placement, what was your thinking on the shifted back neck pickup? Great choice on the unpainted neck too, really captures that 70’s Fender vibe! Si
  14. While the ABM's are still too big/heavy for my needs in their current format, I do have to say that the black EVO 5 is the best looking amp they've put out in the last 20+ years. Si
  15. You’ll unlikely need a preamp/DI as the Duet will have an instrument level input (read: DI). With that in mind, a Preamp will just give you EQ flavour, which is fine, but almost always achievable within the DAW you’re using, which allows more mixing freedom. Based on your usage, I’d probably go with a fairly powerful laptop (I’d say a Mac Book with at least 16gb RAM). If you have the budget, get an additional screen for home use, that way you can work on a two screen setup at home, while also having a mobile setup via the laptop. Boom, sorted. At some point you’ll likely add an external hard drive for storage/backup, but you’re unlikely to need/want that immediately. I’d also recommend Logic as your DAW if you go Mac, cheap for what you get, and nicely scaleable from beginner to professional. Si
  16. Sure, but seems like they're batch built, so I guess it would depend what the demand/sell-through was like on them. We shall see. Si
  17. Wonder what the price point will be. Wish they were shortscale though. Si
  18. Very cool, excited to see it finally getting to see the light of day! Si
  19. No, thanks though. I had one and sold one. Beautiful basses…..I just had to buy a house instead haha. Si
