  1. Is anyone planning on going to Bass Direct this week?

  2. I’d be dropping you a message if it wasn’t for the weight (which will be absolutely fine for someone else). Very cool bass! Si
  3. I needed a box to ship a bass and Mick was gratuitous enough to furnish me with one, along with some additional packaging. Thanks very much Mick, always a pleasure! Si
  4. I had an 1983 USA Fender Jazz a few years ago......awful thing, just horrible. Sold it thank god. Si
  5. Mega long-shot, but is anyone driving between Herts and Leeds any time in the next 1-3 weeks?

Former member @bassface2k10 is a truck driver. I've messaged him to see if he can help...

This is just an alternative plan B to shipping a bass 🙂. I’ll likely just post it as we’ve discussed!

      Thanks though!

  6. Great story and wonderful bass. We must have ordered at fairly similar times (actually probably me a little earlier, Nov 2019 I think), mine came in July of 2020, albeit a more standard build (P4 Oly White). Enjoy it! May you age it well haha Si
  7. Well absolutely, it’s certainly a consideration, depends on the player! Pros and Cons for sure! Si
  8. La Bella 760FS flats have black silks and are pretty smooth (as most flats are). Not to be mistaken for the 760FL set, which have red silks. Si
  9. I echo what has already been broadly mentioned, which is that the correct layout is that which sounds best to you! Which opens up the way for a lot of experimentation, but that really is where you'll get the best long-term results. That said, for what it's worth, here would be my personal layout: Overddrive pedal -> Octaver pedal -> Chorus pedal -> Harley Benton preamp + compressor -> Tuner pedal Really, it doesn't matter too much where the tuner is, but if it's at the very end of the chain, it also acts as a very effective mute. If it's at the start of the chain and you leave loads of effects on while you tune, yes your bass signal is muted, but you could still have effected pedal noise going to your amp. Si
  10. Love this board, very cool setup! Si
  11. As someone who gigs my Noble a LOT, and am running 6 other pedals from the power supply, I noticed very little if any noise. That said, I'm running 5 low-draw analogue pedals and a digital tuner, so it's not a complicated setup. Si
  12. If only you wanted to trade for an Elrick NJS5 😂. GLWTS! Si
  13. I bought Harry’s Lakland 55-02 and he made the deal extremely easy for me (very appreciated at the moment). Good comms, nice guy, bass is lovely and as described, deal with confidence! Si
  14. I keep coming back to this, but just a little too heavy for me! Someone is going to love it though!! Si
  15. Anyone around the High Wycombe/ Bucks  area got a rectangular guitar box that would be suitable for shipping a bass?

I've got 2 rectangular guitar boxes I need to get shot of. One is 122 x 52 x 20cm, the other is 125 x 50 x 18cm. I'm a little further away in London N4, but if either are any use to you give me a shout.

      Hey Si

      I have a few...you know where I am.

  16. I'm looking to move on my Elrick NJS 5, I love this bass but realistically don't play enough 5 string to keep this amount money wrapped up in it. This is NOT one of the cheap Korean built Cort NJS’s, this is one of the European (Czech) built Elricks (think Spector Euro), then setup by Rob in Chicago, so extremely well built, with US Bartolini Pickips and Preamp, as well as the following: Features: - 35″ scale - 24 frets + zero fret - 9.1 Lbs. - Gloss Piano Black Finish - 3-piece Quarter-Sawn Maple Neck Ebony Fretboard - 2-way adjustable truss rod - Bartolini Jazz pickups (Made in the USA) - Bartolini 3-band pre-amp w/2-way mid and active bypass (Made in the USA) - Fully shielded control cavity - Black Elrick Hipshot Ultra-light tuners - Black Finish Elrick bridge – by Hipshot (Made in the USA) - Dunlop Dual Design strap buttons (Straplok compatible!) (Made in the USA) - Currently strung with La Bella RX Steels 45-130. I think I have a couple of spare sets too. - Original Elrick hard case The bass is in excellent condition, with only a tiny little nick in the finish on the top edge of the body, see the very last photo. While cash is king, I am potentially up for trades or part-ex's along the below lines in no particular order, all 4 string and no heavier than 9lbs. I could potentially add a little money for the right bass: - Elrick NJS4 - Spector Euro P/J - 70's Fender Precision or Jazz - Lakland Dual J, 44-60 or HB-30 - Zon Sonus - De Gier Soulmate - Fender Japan Precision or Jazz - Rickebacker - Guild Starfire II Try me on other stuff for sure. Sold You can hear one of its slightly more livelier tones on this track: Cheers Si
  17. Yeah, that’s primarily how I’ve used it for the past 5 years or so, as a headphone amp practice tool, so will be fun to get it out on some gigs. The ‘colourful knob’ pedal is a Fuzzdog DIY Tall Font Russian Fuzz with clean blend, mids & diode lift. I wanted something that kinda did what my custom Cog Tarkin does on my main board (similar feature-set, but with an added Gate). This is very cool, but really quite different sounding to the Tarkin, even though that is also based on a Green Muff. So we’ll see if this stays, will gig it and see. Keen to try the MXR Bass Fuzz too. Cheers Si
  18. The way I have the SOL fixed to the underside (Velcro and a long cable tie), it does sit a little further down than the stock Nano feet can cover. So I bought some larger feet from B&Q for about £2.50 (pic 1 below). They actually fit perfectly over the stock feet (pic 2), pushing on nicely (pic 3), and then popping off to go back in the bag. Gives you a slight rake/angle when in use which is nice (pic 4). In this setup you may well find a ‘naked’ 1590a would fit, I don’t think it would with just the stock feet. Cheers Si
  19. Made a few changes to my small/‘fly board’. Off comes the CAPO and on goes the Enabler and Cog 66. All on a Pedaltrain Nano powered by a Cioks SOL: Cheers Si
  20. Don’t suppose there’s any interest in a trade for a Serek 4 string? 😅 Si
  21. I’m in this year from the perspective of spending ‘new’ money (baby daughter arrives in 2-3 weeks!!), but I’m not ruling out buying something after selling something……I’ve got a couple of ideas haha. Si
