Andy bought a bass from me. Decisive, did what he said he's do, when he said he'd do it. Lovely bloke as well. Yet another great ambassador for our community. Fully recommended, deal with confidence, top bloke. Enjoy Andy and thanks again, cheers, Karl.
It depends if you are looking to get the same volume from a smaller, more efficient rig. I've got a couple of Barefaced One10 cabs and they are ridiculous in terms of the volume I can get from them vs their size. However, on the bigger stages there are times when I wish I had just that bit more. After reading Kevin Deans reviews of the new Ashdown Rootmaster-EVO 12" white cabs & the fact it knocked a couple of BF Super Compactsout of his rig, I am seriously interested in trying these out too. I believe there's an upgrade option that gives 700W speakers in a 12" 10KG cab.
Largo, could you point me in the right direction for that review please, I'm interested but too dozy to find it Cheers, Karl.
Before this goes too far and gets misunderstood, in my 4 and a half years in the U.K., I have had the pleasure of being in a band and regularly playing with 4 quality drummers. I have never been in band and thinking, "I wish the drummer could get it together". That's said, we all, myself especially, make slip ups. My question is, when a drummer miss hits and stalls for the microsecond that feels like a lifetime, do you A: keep time and hope the drummer catches up B: time your next note to fall with the next kick drum/snare/ Symbol and hope the guitars cotton on and shift back into line. Reason I ask, I find myself doing both of these at times, but sometimes whichever one I do feels wrong. Ultimately, it's live music, and we plough on, I'm just curious to know how you all manage this!!
Get used to it pal, believe me! And option A, always option A

Andy came from London to Wigan to try out my bass (ok, he was fitting in a gig in Manchester as well ). Really nice guy who did exactly what he said he'd do, when he'd do it. Absolute pleasure to deal with and fully recommended by Il Gobbo (ie me). All he best Andy, enjoy the bass and thanks again, cheers, Karl.

He's wrong about knobs. There's the ones that have bid nearly £300 on it so far. -

These three are top blokes, top musicians run a good jam and it's a good venue. Get yourself there and get on the page Ian linked in post #9 You will have a great night and a good laugh. Also, with the NW bands website, although you can't register, some of the ads do put a phone no on. Good luck, won't take you long to find a band.

A chap playing the short scale version. I believe Jow has put a 10% discount on his current stock as he's going to concentrate on the custom options route. https://youtu.be/X6ym9CPP5Wo

No longer available in this colour. In my opinion an excellent bass at this price. A few small dint's plus one in the neck. Yes, sometimes you can feel the neck dint. Very light at just over 8lb. If my Mex Precision goes this will be removed from sale. Superbly set up and ready to gig. Any trial in Wigan, your rig or mine. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. Very good but gigged condition 2005 Mexico Precision bass guitar in Agave Blue. Upgraded Kent Armstrong pickup. Upgraded Gotoh bridge. Tatty gig bag. Spare black scratchplate. Some hard to see little dints, one major one, see picture. Superbly set up gigging bass. A new Mex Standard P is just shy of £600 and is unlikely to be as well sorted as this one. It certainly won't have the pups , bridge or oiled board. Any trial in Wigan, your rig or mine. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl.
Has anyone added a "stealth" woofer pickup to their bass for those EB-style lows? I have one on my Yamaha Attitude Special and it sounds great mixed in with the P pickup. I'd love to have one hidden on a normal-looking P bass, I imagine I'd have to use quite a powerful one since it would be below the pickguard.
If it's the bass I think it is, then it's not really a "stealth" pick up is it? What you might like to consider is getting such a pick up, WITH a cover, then routing the body and cutting a hole in the scratchplate. Sorry I've not got many photos of what I mean, but you can just about see it on this one.
