1. Don't quote me Paul, but I'm reasonably sure the Pro is replacing the standard. Seem to remember there were a couple of improvements including MM style truss rod "wheel". There's a long thread on here somewhere.
2. Further PM's replied thank you. Would trade for immaculate Barefaced SuperTwelve/SuperTwin. A thread on these basses. https://www.talkbass...special.780895/ It's going to get Ducked at the weekend .
3. I have also made a valiant attempt Lewis PM and bump.
4. Fender JB65 115 NR , hootenanay button, heel adjustment http://www.fantasist...roducts_id=7178
5. Find an American Vintage 57, in my limited experience some of the finest basses to leave America. Not the investment potential of a pre CBS but unlikely to lose money.

7.
Sacrilege! "Leo got is right" How can you ever imply otherwise!?!?! I totally agree BTW. How can anyone ever get excited about sea-foam green or 3/2 tone sunburst ? ( Dives for cover!! )
Off with his [s]trousers[/s] head
8.
I feel for PMT. They won't have the recourse to go back to the PXer and get their money back. He was probably laughing all the way home.
To an extent, so do I .............BUT, They can take the hit a bit more than a private individual. They will have gained kudos for their actions.
9. A BIG WELL DONE TO PMT!!!! I say this because it is unlikely they have the depth of experience (especially on bass) that can be found here. Nobody there may have even considered it wasn't what the part ex'er told them it was. Possibly the part ex'er didn't even know. They did the right thing. Excellent result Mal, really pleased for you .
10. Of little use to you Mark, but if my US American Special Precision goes in time, I'll be on my way down to you. Really surprised these super cabs haven't gone.
11. Did this ever sell?
12. Nice amp Lloyd, hope things are great Mr., have a bump .
13.
Strat knobs, too? That ain't no RI. Take it back.
Straight between the eyes as ever WOT. Have you ever even seen a fence?
14. Sorry Andy, you've confused me. Dave's fretless has heel truss rod adjustment and MIJ/serial number at base of neck, unlike OP's?
15. Here'a link to a recently sold one. The differences show. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/281608-198990-fender-jazz-bass-62-reissue-mij-sold/page__p__3023548__hl__mij%2062%20jazz__fromsearch__1#entry3023548 Your body has the earthing strip which suggests 62 RI. The ONLY way to confirm this is to take the neck off. The pocket should have something like JB62 LP. Assuming it is a 62 RI, the neck should also have an extra strap button on the back of the headstock (some call this a hootenany button I believe). On the question of refunds, well, caveat emptor, BUT, PMT have a lot more to lose than you so I would personally be pleasant but very firm with them.
16. I was the one that suggested advice was sought here folks. I'm pretty much certain no 60's reissue (Japan, US, Mex) had headstock truss rod adjustment. It also looks to me that the decal is over lacquer which I thought was only early original basses or Custom Shop. Whilst I might be wrong, I wouldn't like this to come back and bite the seller on the arse. As he has the receipt, I'm sure PMT would do the decent thing, IF I'm correct. Apologies if I have caused doubt where there is none. 17. Cheers Pete, I'm surprised as well but there ya go. PS, You owe me for replastering my little music room
18. Bloody Hell, didn't take you long Russ . I put 3 coats of Lemon oil on last night, greedy little mare ain't she. Sorry about the issues fella, I never got round to taking it apart. Wonder, with the pup size issue, if you try the original pup with John's loom??? Absolutely LOVED the scratchplate idea!!!! Subscribed
19. On more than one occasion I've met up with Basschatters to do a deal, and you know amost instantly they are going to be a long term long distance friend. Russ is one of those guys. If we both didn't have work to do, we would probably still be yakking about a certain R*** weilding YES bassist. Absolutely top class bloke, cheers Russ!
20. I've just bought an amp off Pete. Absolute perfection deal, lovely bloke and a great player. Yet another great ambassador for Basschat, fully recommended. Cheers Pete.
21. Not a 212 but even at 8ohms (around 350 watts from the Streamliner) I'd be very surprised if the following wouldn't cut it. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/288501-barefaced-big-baby-i-wroqsolid/page__pid__3179623#entry3179623
22. It is American albeit entry level American. Doubt Yank Fenders of any series are going to get cheaper anytime soon. Cheers, Karl
