That happened 1966

Yes that's right. An overstocking of 1966 pots saw them used on instruments up to around 1969.
So I was half right. That's unusually good for me! Thanks chaps.

I need a Precision. The price above is a rough guide to a trade valuation. Looking for, American Special Precision Mike Dirnt ROADWORN (I have a few bob to put towards that). 2002 Fender Jazz, Burgundy Mist metallic with matching headstock. This is a Factory Special Run, there are very few in the UK. Mid weight at just over 9lbs. Based on the 60's Classic Series reissues (later to spawn the fabulous Road Worn series) this has been modded. Like any 15 year old bass it has some little dinks, but hard to photograph. House of Tone "House Special" jazz pick ups. Ki0Gon stack knob wiring loom. Both "ashtrays" (Fender parts). Fender gig bag. Any trial in Wigan. My apologies for photos, raining yet again. Mind you, this is one of those metallic finishes that changes with light, anything from almost copper metallic to purple metallic. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. Just bought an amp from Martin. Despite me going into serious dumb mode, he sorted everything, he's yet another EXEMPLARY Basschat ambassador. Fully recommended, can't thank you enough, cheers fella, Karl.

I kinda mentioned it elsewhere, but there is an Ashdown Klystron 1200 (yes 1200) for sale on a Facebook group. The guy is in Chapmanslade, Wiltshire, great bassist with Who's Next. Don't know if that is something you would be considering in going back to Ashdown, but at £450 it seems very good value. I had the 500 Klystron for a while and it was staggering.

Being the proud owner of 2 difficult to find (passive) P/J's, enjoy Cato. Terrific, versatile workhorse basses. Well done that man

Great job Russ, looks excellent. TimAl did a good job on your vision as well.

New embassy (and also thunderbird) bass, Classic style!
karlfer replied to tommorichards's topic in Bass Guitars
Tommo, title might benefit from editing? Some folk will see Embassy and just move on. New T/bird in title, well, they couldn't miss it. Just sayin' -

If us few are so excited at this stage, perhaps we might need to pre order to avoid disappointment? -

Hope not, the Tbird is supposedly replacing the current Pro 1V, which sells around £350/£400. Certainly not going to pay pushing a grand for an Epi, as good as they can be. -
The Embassy's cool but they've blundered the headstock... But never mind that - look at the Thunderbird! If those pickups are any good I'm getting one of each! I hope it's a creamier white than the recent Pro Tbirds though. We can but hope.
I've already diarised??? a reminder for July 3rd. Better get some gigs booked in Great spots Tommo and Nancy! -

Oh Hell's bells, T/bird, white, chrome colour pups and vintage bridge. I KNOW I'm in trouble -
I'm sure there are a lot of people who go to this show and would appreciate 20% off. Out of all the crap that lands in my inbox every day I don't begrudge Basschat 1 email every blue moon.
Nail > head, well put Chris.

I did a 750 sell out bike rally charity 18 months ago (tickets were £35 for the weekend). We were told to be there for 4pm sound check. Duly turned up 3.45. Organiser " we're running behind, sound check 6.30pm". Me. "Could you not have texted one of us so we could have gone for a bite somewhere?" Organiser "if you don't like it, f*** off home" Result of that was the other 3 lads dragging me back out of my van, as I was offski, before I banjo'd the prick. 4 hours each way, no fuel money plus abuse? I left home 11.45am Sat, got home 2.15am Sunday. Never, ever again.

Advert on a Facebook group. Craig Addecott is the bass player from the fabulous "Whos Next" Ashdown Klystron Bass Magnifier 1200 £450 Chapmanslade REDUCED - This is an incredible amp. Perfect working order. Recently serviced and PAT tested. It's served me well as my main gigging amp for the past few years and is perfect for every situation from clubs to large open air festivals. It has never let me down. Footswitch and cables included. Full spec as ABM EVOIII (see Ashdown Website). Only selling as I am upgrading to a new Ashdown rig. Trades welcome for Ashdown 410 600w/650w ABM 115 500w cabs, ABM EVOIII 500 heads. Or Fender Jazz Basses but would prefer cash. These amps are rare and seldom come up for sale especially in this condition. Collection from Westbury, Wiltshire. Price is ono. Thanks for looking Advert is on this group but you will need to scroll down (or search Ashdown) https://www.facebook.com/groups/689090051102626/ Fabulous and rare head so a great opportunity for somebody who likes these. Terrific price as well. I'm so bloody tempted as I had a 500 watt, but they are just too heavy for me nowadays.

Another great deal with Dan, such a great bloke and ambassador for BC. Just wish I had enought to buy his 'Arry as well . Until the next time Dan, thanks again

All I can say is those strings look a bit rusty to me. Personally, I wouldn't sell a bass with rusty strings, I would change them before putting the bass up. Doubt I would put some new LaBellas on mind
. . . . in your dreams. There will always be valve amps but in the bass world valves have been a niche market for many years. Class D is the de facto standard for PA systems. The move into the bass environment has been slower and fragmented but the rate of improvement is increasing and will reach a point where Class D will become the standard for bass players. 5, 10, 20 years? I don't know, but it's coming.
Hmm, 20 years ago, your mobile phone could make phone calls (IF you had reception) and possibly text, if you were rich. Now even mine could run NASA I hope I'm still around to see bass amp technology in 20 years, could be interesting.

These cabs have been around for a year or so but very little in the way of reviews. Many folk got them? I know Andy (Travis) is well enamoured of them. Comments from experience appreciated, ta.
