Right ok everyone I've figured out what's happened. The bass I've got is a standard made in Japan in 1995 & someone has added the grounding strip to make it look like a 60's classic reissue if you look at the photos it tells it all. [/quote] Yes it was sold as - "Fender Japanese Jazz bass 60's Reissue" on my receipt. So I've got a good case here. Need to wait till Saturday to go back to see the manager as he wasn't in. But I was informed that due to how long I've had it! but to me that's not the case if this doesn't all add up it's mislead trade descriptions act & you have 6 years to make a case or 5 years in Scotland. I don't need a store credit as I have enough bass guitars. To me it doesn't matter how long I've had it it's misleading representation of what I thought I was buying which was a made in Japan 60's classic reissue that's the reason I purchased in the first instance

Ok so I've taken the jazz bass back to PMT today & they've taken off the neck and this is what it shows on the body & neck & they match up. So what do these serial numbers tell you of the model etc does anybody know please. But I feel a bit cheeky asking for a full refund as at the time I was looking to buy a jazz bass & I do have a good relationship with PMT. But then on the other hand I'll have a store credit but don't want to go & spend on something else that I don't really need at the moment but feel I should respect there decision of a store credit as I've had this bass since March 2016.

Hi everyone just thought I'd let you know that I've been back to pmt & they are happy for me to return the bass to them & give me a full store credit up to the value of what i paid for the bass due to it not being what it was stated as I.e. classic reissue at the time of purchase & I'd like to personally thank you for all your help with this I really appreciate it Now my only problem is what do I buy with the store credit or do you think I should ask for a full refund 😃

Ok thanks for all your help with this so far everyone. So basically this is not all genuine MIJ should I be entitled to a full refund from PMT as I purchased under the pretences that this was a genuine MIJ 1995? What proof can I show them to back up my claim guys?

HI there everyone, I'm new on hear and this is my first post. I purchased what I was told is a 1995 fender jazz bass MIJ 1960's reissue from PMT Birmingham. I'm now trying to sell it & I've been informed from a gentleman on Facebook bass selling page that the neck is not correct & that it is a squire neck on a 1960's reissue body due to he said that no Japanese fender jazz reissue has the truss rod adjustment at the headstock & also that the decal on the headstock is a watermark replacement logo. So I'm really concerned that I have been mislead to believe that this is all genuine when In fact it may not be. So I need your assistance if possible please to ascertain if this is true what I have been told as if so then I'm taking it back to PMT to request a full refund.
