1.
At the weekend I finally got round to putting flats on my Hofner Violin Bass. It's amazing, like a whole new instrument! I admit the rounds that came on it from the factory were a bit crap, but it now goes 'bomp' instead of 'twang' and is just perfect.
Keep playing them! My LaBellas have done hundreds of gigs now and just sound better all the time.
2. I've had LaBella Jamersons on my old Precision for about 6 years now and they get better all the time - very meaty! I'm trying Rotosound 77's (110) set on my other p and after a few months I'm not really enjoying them.
3. I believe import duties are covered by it
4. Tried it once, tracked my delivery (a BDDI) all the way to the parcel depot up the road, then they reckoned they couldnt find my address, so I tracked it all the way back to an upset seller in the US. Fault was with the delivery people this side, so I'd say the system is ok.
5.
As with others, in no particular order, my favourite 10 bassmen: 1. Norman Watt-Roy (The Blockheads) 2. JJ Burnel (The Stranglers) 3. Bruce Foxton (The Jam) 4. Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) 5. Mark 'Bedders' Bedford (Madness) 6. Colin Moulding (XTC) 7. Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) 8. Dennis Dunaway (Alice Cooper) 9. Paul McCartney (The Beatles, Wings, on his tod) 10. James Jamerson (Motown) I could probably have stretched another 10 easily but it's the fellows above that I played along to when I was learning.
If the list could be longer, your 5 and 8 would be my 11 and 12!!!
6. Keith Ferguson Johnny B Gayden Norman Watt-Roy Tommy Shannon Dee Dee Ramone Jack Newhouse Billy Cox Dusty Hill Duck Dunn Preston Hubbard
7. Flats, pick, palm muting - Joe Osborn style. Doesn't get any more 60s than that for me.
8. I really liked the 2 that I had apart from the weak G string. Are they all like that??
9. As new and boxed. £30 + £5 postage in UK.

17. Can't believe this is still around. These are great amps
18. Roto 66's for rounds, LaBella 110's for flats.
19. My 78 Precision is still the best bass I've ever played. There were some great late 70's Fenders even though it wasn't their best era.
