1. Woking Mod band need a replacement drummer due to relocation to join our very experienced line up which is Vocals, Guitar, Hammond, Bass and drums. About one good quality gig per month and weekly rehearsals. We have played The 100 Club and the Modernism event at Bisley. We have made a record, a cover of Left Right And Centre,an old Paul Weller song of which we had the go ahead from the man himself. Our singer is Enzo Esposito who was lead singer with Squire in the late 70's, this band being quite well known during the Mod revival of the time. They also supported The Jam on the All Mod Cons tour. Our set consists of a scattering of well chosen Mod covers and original material, some of which has been recorded. Looking for a drummer with a good feel for Mod / Soul / Northern Soul music. Set list, some recordings, videos available if interested.
 2.
A few Jam riffs, Down In The Tube Station, It`s Too Bad, Funeral Pyre. Pump It Up by Elvis Costello, Nice & Sleazy by The Stranglers.
Add Down In The Sewer to that and it sounds like the perfect demo!
 3.
I have never played a Ric, although my favourite bassists are Paul McCartney and Bruce foxton.
I believe that Bruce played a Ric copy (live) and most of the Jam recordings were a Precision.
 4. Just received Scoobys Gator 3U case. Well packaged, sent promptly and as described. Great guy to deal with. Cheers!
 5. 410 will be good - ABM610 would be killer with that head!
 6. If I didnt already have one i'd buy it myself! One of the best heads ever IMO
 7.
A raw gnarly sound can be diwn to the speakers, especially if there's also a tweeter involved. Temper the treble and get some warmth in the midrange.
Absolutely. GK's are very versatile amps
 8. I like the look of that Blue Berry but the warmest, most touch responsive drive ive put in front of my GK 700RB-II is a SolidgoldFX Beta - it is just incredible.
 9.
I love the deep chunky neck on my 78 Precision, it makes me work harder and I find playing it more enjoyable because of this. I also just love my 78 anyway, I know some aren`t too keen on 70s Fenders but I`m not one of them.
My 78 is by far my favourite bass. I love the B width nut and while the neck is a good hand full, its not excessive. The ash body is on the heavy side but ive felt much heavier Jazz basses from this era. I just cannot get another precision set up and sounding like this one, no matter how often im tempted away!
 10. Bargain! Great amps - one of GK's best ever
 11. I only do picks on a couple of songs and use the Tortex 1.14mm or 1.5mm. With Roto66's on a P Bass it sounds great! Yep, small changes, big tone difference
 12. One of my favourite guitarists. Really miss his playing.

 14.
from playing thru my 810 with gain and master at about 12 id say it was a nice warm light overdrive, but i have hot guitars and use the low input, they get nice and dirty tho at not crazy volume, unless you max both gain and volume, then its a bit much. i think ive posted this but this is were i show how dirty it gets thru my 810 https://www.youtube....h?v=eUMx-foXvLI
Cheers mate
 15.
I run CTM 100 through two ABM NEO 210s. I use the low/quieter input as the breaks up a bit too soon (like REALLY soon) with the high one. I have the gain at about 10-11, master between 12-2. Its quite a loud band - 2 guitars, heavy drums, and those settings bring it up to being proud in the mix - ie normal backline vol - and that puts it just on the edge of snarl, but not noticeably distorted. Fantastic sound really. I found I had to encourage the guitarists to tweak their normal eq, as it sits differently to my other amp - so when I first plugged in, it all sounded a bit mushy. The CTM eq doesn't do big eq variations. But once they'd conceded to cut a little bit of bass or mids or something from the guitars, any slush went away and cuts through like a demon. I think I read someone saying its on a par with an ABM 500 - but I'm not sure it is really. With gain and vol in similar place on my ABM, I know I've got loads of extra clean headroom (not that I've ever needed it). The CTM wouldn't much above drum volume without getting fuzzy IMO. But its completely happy at regular backline level, accepting a little bit of bite. I've used it at gigs a few times now, some with pa & some smaller ones with backline only & its got as much oomph as I've needed so far. Happy days.
Thanks for that BluRay
 16. Seriously considering a CTM-100. How do you guys that play them think they hold up on stage volume wise? How far do they go into distortion if we were talking about the sort of volume typically put out when using FOH? I like some break up and always play with full PA support, usually with an Ashdown 610
 17.
Glad you're getting on well! I'd love to have an 810 but just don't have the room (or the means to move it)! I think even a 4x10 would be a struggle for me. Maybe new car should be top of my new gear list...
Considered the ABM610? Im loving mine with a GK 700RB-II.

 19. No point trying to get gigs in central London just to say you've done it - cant see the point. A good manager and promoter will get you gigs there if its worth it
 20. Im a firm believer that one of the biggest changes / upgrades that you can make to your bass is a string change. Usually much cheaper and almost always more dramatic than a PU swap for example. String swapping can get a bit obsessive for some but it improves your basic set-up skills in the process! And I agree, roundwound steels are great - I use Rotosound 66's.
 21.
I don't like the way they seem to be going towards a full graphic EQ a la the TE stuff. Personally I'd prefer a simple 4 band EQ (bass, low mid, hi mid, treble), but I understand that the versatility of this new EQ will appeal to more players.
4 band eq is very GK, and nothing wrong with that, im a GK700RBII player but Im pretty tempted by this ABM600 having recently got into a new ABM610
