1.
Here's a quick update to my rig. Got the Ashdown 810, from ern500evo, fixed up to a useable state. It sounds bloody fantastic to me...
Thats a "non-rat" JJ500, one of the first 10? I've got one - brilliant head!! Running it into an ABM610. Whats the box on top? I like mine with a SolidgoldFX Beta or SFT in front
  2.
Nice! Glad to hear of your re-discovery Steve! I think I need to re-discover mine too.
Think I need to re-buy mine......

  4. Really sad to hear that Lonnie has left us. Never like prince, always a conceited little weirdo
  5. Absolutely - I'm really impressed with it.
  6. I'm seriously tempted to get a 1U rack mount version with 2 channels!
  7.
I'm using mine into a Bagend minima that does 1000 watt at 4 ohms
Interesting - is that mounted in a cab?
  8. VT1 EQ DI MK2 user here. Without a doubt, the best pre-amp DI I've ever used. Tried BDDI, VTDI etc and this is streets ahead. Used it straight into the front end of an amp but prefer into power amp/effects return and DI to FOH - sound guys really like it after initial curiosity??!! Just for kicks, I dropped in an old Mullard ECC82 and it is the cherry on top. Not a massive gain drop over the ECC83 but just seems to have a bit more clarity and warm punch. I'm thinking of getting a power amp to run this into for gigging, about 1000w @ 4ohms - any recommendations regarding input sensitivity etc?
  9. Theres not half the OD on a lot of tracks that some inexperienced people think. Isolate it and its normally much cleaner and mid rangey than expected. Its all perception - heavy / punk song and people think distortion
  10. Just completed a trade with Neil. Excellent guy, stayed in touch, item absolutely great, delivered on time in perfect condition. Recommended!
  11.
What does it weigh please?
I haven't had it in any scales. It's not a flyweight but certainly no boat anchor - I'd say its about 9.5 to 10 pounds. Certainly less than my 78 Precision!
  12.
Sooooo tempted but desperately trying to shed basses grrrrrrr
Go on, just one more......
  13. Fantastic 2006 USA Jazz with Wizard 84 pickups (pre Hot-Rod). Its in the discontinued Shoreline Gold which is not like a sparkling gold, more like metallic beige, very understated. This is a beautiful bass. Really lovely maple neck and hardly any fret wear. Sounds fantastic and the 84's can really add some clout when needed. The S1 switch really did work well on the Jazz but didn't on the P bass!! I only got this last summer from BCer Shambo (Andy) and selling as I'm just not using it due to the Precision just working best for the bands I play with at the moment. A very clean instrument with only a couple of very tiny marks - incredible for its age really! The case isnt one of Fenders best, is a bit warped on the rim but will more than do the job. £630. Poss trade for (another!) good US Precision.
