5.
'American Traditional' were a 90's budget series, made in Mexico I think, or at least made in the US from Mex parts. I had one a while back and it was actually pretty good, but not an MIA in the true sense. They were originally supplied with one-piece white pickguards and white VVT controls and as such looked a lot like a Strat (like the early 90's Fullertons which I imagine they were modelled on). This bass has clearly been upgraded so, if mine was anything to go on, it's likely a decent instrument Chris.
Ive got one of these, same body colour, American vintage PUs, white pickguard, bell control plate. One of the best jazz bass's Ive played.
  6. This bass is for sale in the Bass Gallery - with a different pickguard http://www.thebassgallery.com/fenderpabass63.html
  7.
that's a lot of bass for not much money! I like it, but i don't think a gold sparkle tele would go down well in a metal band
Perhaps you could tell them to listen with their ears, not their eyes!
  8.
I grabbed a 100w Ampeg V4BH(all tube -4 x 6L6 pwr tubes) & to me this sounds almost idetical to my all tube SVTII(non-pro).
How are you getting on with the V4BH? Enough volume? Which cabs do you use to get the most out of it, and which output valves are you using?
  9.
Hmmm I guess time will tell in the QC department. 'US Made' will no doubt hold it's price if the Asian versions suffer a drop in reliability.
The Ampeg vs 'Nampeg debate has been raging in the states for some time now and, as usual, older US built stuff is attracting inflated prices. General feedback seems that after an initial glitch or three, the Nam built stuff is doing pretty well - and it seems particularly the cabs.

    Peavey gear
Great kit for the money. Not sure if they run comfortably into 2 ohms as Peavey claim though -anyone have experience of this?
I used to regularly run my T-Max head at 2ohms - no problem. I used a 410 TVX and 210TVX - there wasnt many situations where you would have needed more power!
  17. Use of the 'partner', or 3rd party story is a classic ebay rip-off cover.
