2. Disco Inferno was definately played by Ronnie Baker of the Trammps. He was well known for his deep, thumping bass, heavy flatwounds, loads of foam under the bridge to mute the strings - he truly believed that a bass was meant to sound like a bass!! He died some years ago.
3. I bought Clarkys 2002 P Bass yesterday. Really great bass, just as described - spot on. Quick meeting, easy transaction, no fuss. Really nice bloke - highly recommended if you're going to buy some bass gear. Thanks Clarky!!
4. 1. Keith Ferguson - Original Fab Thunderbirds line up 2. Duck Dunn 3. Tommy Shannon
5. Looks like the old Highway 1. I like the "vintage" neck plate with a CE sticker on it!
6. Some nice trade offers up to now guys, but nothing Im really after yet. Still for sale.....
7. Ive got one in Oly White, 99 American Traditional. Changed the PUs and plate. One of the best J Bass's Ive played!! There have been a few threads on here about them.
8. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QSC RMX1450 POWER AMP - £120 I run it bridged at 8 ohms and it puts out 900w - more than enough poke & no clipping. Loads of headroom with the 410. A couple of scratches on the face above the gain knobs. http://www.qscaudio.com/products/amps/rmx/rmx.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4U ABS RACK CASE - £20 From Flightcase Warehouse, clean & no marks. No offers on the price please. Im in London, collect only or poss meet. Welcome to come and try it out - brilliant rig!!
9. Anyone mix these two? Im currently using an GK700RBII through an Ampeg 115E. This set up was recommended to me by a guy in the states for old school, vintage tone. Not a big rig, but kicks it out big time and is as vintage and fat as you like - I was surprised!!! My Aguilar db680/GS410 rig hasnt been out since I started with this set up.
10. Pre-ban, I always used to play Red House while smoking a cigar. Nearly killed the song one time when our non-smoking singer caught a lungful of exhaled smoke
11.
Nothing special I'm afraid - Smells Like Teen Spirit :-) I'm also chipping away at "Disco Inferno" and "Just" (Radiohead).
Disco Inferno isnt too hard - just start slow and accurate

15. Has anyone played the 410 or 115 and able to give an opinion on either?? I know they have a pretty huge power handling!!
16. Has anyone played both? Im interested in the amount of headroom available - volume yes, but headroom primarily. My cabs are: Aguilar GS410 and Ampeg 115E
17. Thanks all who got in touch offering to trade some great instruments - I was shocked at the response!!! Traded with Mickyboro. A really nice bloke - just the type of musician you hope people on this site are going to be. Thanks.
18. My dark honeyburst, 4 string, 3 Eq, maple board Stingray - see pics. I got it off of BCer Hammer earlier this year - hardly used, not a mark on it, immaculate, plays and sounds great - im just looking for a Fender Jazz though. Will consider all Jazz bass trades or around £600 cash - def prefer to trade though. Includes Musicman hard case.
