1. Lots of small lightweight bass cabs now available and not withstanding that I've not heard these, I'd say they are pricey when compared to the likes of TKS.
2. The click when switching between SS/tube is absolutely normal 'they all do it' and nothing to worry about! It was designed so that you would select your preferred tone and not be flicking mid gig/song. The amp likely as not won't get warmer than you've described because the casing is part of the heat dissipation and even in a case isn't a problem. ...great amps!
3. Was this a recent purchase?
4.
No it isn't
Correct! LOL Even when I went back and looked it still looked wrong initially.
5. Rarer than a rare thing... especially as it is LH!
6. Replacing pups wouldn't in and by itself guarantee you an aggressive modern tone, the tone of a bass is the same of the parts; is your MiM ash, whereas the JV Alder, weight/density/resonance all affect tone.
7. What's the difference with Tues/Wed/Thurs...?
8.
...and fir sale till Monday.......
What happens/changes on Monday?
9. '...with 9 days to run' Check back in 9 days!
10. I think it's referred to as the TV bass (just off to work so that is off the top of my head this morning and really should check) and it comes up as a topic of conversation/curiosity every now and again on various forums. However, we'll not derail the sale thread!
11. When you say you replaced the bright switch, is that a mod you/specialist/factory did?
12. Warwick Streamer (NT) 7lb 4oz... I also have an Aria Sinsonido which is lighter BUT some of the body is fresh air so it doesn't count IMHO.
13.
Tried to message him via facebook, but it seems to be locked down to outsiders - anyone have his email or anything? Or suggest anyone else? cheers Deek.
I'll message him and see what the craic is.
14. Now isn't that interesting! I've done an A/B with these in the flesh and I could defo tell them apart at the time BUT I'd be hard pushed to be 100% sure based on the recordings... though I 'think' I can tell which is which!
15. Rubbing down and rewaxing is fine (you can warm a bit of wax up and it will penetrate better but not compulsory). Shaving it down is another matter; I'm unsure how much meat can be taken off or how deep the truss rod rout is.
16. Love mine, more mwah than either the CS Dolphin Pro I or the USA Musicmans I've had.
17.
My main rig is built around a Tech Soundsystems Black Cat amp. 2 x 500W Valve/digital hybrid. The tone controls are subtle but the amp really lets the individual voice of the bass shine through rather than stamp its character all over the sound. Works for me.
Glad you still have that and that it's working for you. I know what you mean about subtle and also very interactive between the various EQs.
18. Lovely bass (I've owned two) but it's technically a Streamer 89 Ltd Ed as opposed to Stage I (which is a PJ derivative). It might be worth changing the title to draw in someone looking for something a it more special than a 'normal' Streamer.
19.
If it helps at all, mine is 9.2lbs with a J Retro fitted.
Unfortunately, I've owned Laklands in the past and of the 3 JO basses I owned (all Skylines) the weigh varied by 1lb 4oz... and that is the exact same model bass!
20.
Not exact, but it's somewhere in the region of 8.5-9.0 lbs; my sources vary from site to site...
No worries. Unfortunately the weight of your actual bass (as opposed to manufacturers 'guesstimates') is quite important to me and I've sadly been disappointed in the past by other people's experiences of what constitutes 'light'! Birmingham is a tad far to pop by and try for myself. GLWTS
21. Never heard of him/them!
22.
Warwickhunt has owned most warwicks, but has he owned one of these?
Owned the Infinity (still got the Infinette) but not the BC version... though I'd like to join a funk band just so that I could.
23. Do you have an accurate weight?
24. Oooof cracking price (out of stock mind) and if you were thinking of selling a 'used' RS112 any time soon... don't!
25.
You may have mis-read the post there my friend. No one said it was a £50-£100 repair, I was suggesting thats how much I'd hope to pay. From talking to a few amp repair companies thats a good couple of hours on the bench. I gave EBS a very detailed description of the fault and judging by the signal path within the amp it could only be a few components that are causing the Valve channel to be faulty. I am certainly a lot more confident with EBS' diagnosis than anyone else's. One amp repair company I spoke to said if I gave them the amp to repair they'd even do the same thing and email EBS for a diagnosis. The seller has no clue what the issue is, he's been happy to use it as a Solid State and just wants something all valve for his studio. Regards the purchase, it would be a trade. With the Fafner standing me about half of what you suggest the going rate for them is used.
Ah, gotcha. If you are paying half the going rate for it then not so bad.
