Used basses without original case/bag
warwickhunt replied to bootleg's topic in Accessories and Misc
I would expect a reasonable discount to buy a bass without the original bag or case...
Conversely some folks make low ball offers for a bass that you might agree to but 'without' the case; leaving you to sell the case to recoup the difference! I've had it happen several times where buyers have said that they use x/y/z brand of case/gigbag and don't want the case that is with the bass, so would I knock off £20-£50 or whatever. Consequently I've got several branded cases off past basses, which have proved useful... for when I buy said brand of bass without a case! -

Surely it's the 1000th bass made... shouldn't #1 be B000001

Backup Gear - Anyone take a spare cab with them?
warwickhunt replied to Lozz196's topic in General Discussion
It's the main reason I have a 2 cab rig.
This ^ A pair of 2x10's means if one dies I still have monitor. + I keep a small active Preamp/DI in my leads case -
Schroeder 21012 with Roqsolid Cover FS £350 SOLD PENDING
warwickhunt replied to mrtcat's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
This is a steal! I'm meeting Tom on Tuesday. IF ANYBODY from the north west or north east wants this cab PAY ATTENTION I can get it to Wigan for any guys in the NW. We can make arrangements from that point. I can get it to the North East, on Saturday 12th March, as I am gigging at Steph's in Consett. On that Saturday I can go up the west as far as Penrith, or alternatively go M62/A1 and meet up along that route. Or you can come down to Consett and collect from there. Please though, I will be on a tight-ish schedule on that Saturday. You will have no courier charge, you won't have to wait in for a courier to chuck it over the fence You will, however, have to sort out paying Tom, I want nowt to do with the loot I had a Schro 410BMF, best cab I've ever had, but circs changed and I had to go smaller. Good luck Tom, cracking cab.
Very generous offer, well done that man. -
I've taken a rough average of £700 for estimation purposes.
Only 4 basses a week still seems low, I'd have thought 4 a DAY!

I'm surprised your figure is as low as £3000 a week... I'd have expected more!

Love the look and tone of the Thumb bass but can not for the life of me live with the short top horn and subsequent reach to the first position. Like wise I love the idea of a Ric but the big body and lack of forearm contour makes them a no go for me!
It looks more like cocobolo to me. What is the serial? If it is a 2000, the serial checker should have the details:- http://www.warwickba...current_site_id
Agree with the Cocobolo and I bet if you put the serial # in it will throw out the detail further up the thread.
Swamp Ash/Bubinga pommele top body Ovangkol neck
IMHO an office temp at Warwick answers emails... at least I hope it isn't an 'actual' knowledgeable employee! The top could be Bubinga but I have a feeling it is otherwise... but for the sake of argument I'll concede. However, the neck is maple CATEGORICALLY not Ovankol! I've seen plenty of those Warwick email replies and I'd say greater than 50% had a major mistake in them; they generally get the year and month of manufacture right but to be fair I could provide that info (with greater accuracy) as it is part of the serial number you will have provided them with. Nice bass mind.

'girl' in title, youtube clip of someone playing... ah another one!
-
The neck is glued in... or at least it is supposed to be; whereas this one is decoupling rapidly! Even if you are good with joinery etc. I'd be concerned that there is too much pressure for the neck joint to hold. The proper 'Fly' is a similar shape but a different bass altogether, though I did read about concerns re. the carbon neck/body joints failing (I used to own one).

Expert help '68 fender jazz bass body routed
warwickhunt replied to patrik733's topic in Bass Guitars
£2400 seems steep for a modded Jazz. Fair enough, swapping the originals for DiMarzio's is one devaluation but the routing knocks a chunk more off for me. -
