1.
Have you already tried to contact the makers with your issues..? Could they not help..?
Yes Warwick will defo help... they'll sell him a brand new MEC pre circa £250. EMG pups will work with pretty much any active preamp; MEC EMG SD Aguilar... personal taste as to which to go for. Look on the BC sales section, I'm fairly sure there is a Spector Tonepump going for less than £50.
2.
It's The lightest 5 strings and not only.. 3,3 kg.....!!!! It's a relax for the back and the shoulder....
Wow! That is uber-light for a 4 string never mind a 5... I've been searching for 'years' for a light 4 string Sterling (USA) and the best I've ever had is 8lb 10oz! GLWTS
3.
walnut sandwich
Ah yes, just spotted in pic 2
4. I'd sell the bass... patently at a MASSIVELY reduced price; I'll take it off your hands, as a favour. A replacement MEC can turn up but EMG and Aguilar have worked well for me in the past.
5. Are these solid maple wings or does it have the walnut sandwich?
6. Feedback is your first stop, then you make the call on payment. Paypal is best for you but some (inc' me) don't like it/won't use it. However, if the user is long term with loads of feedback then I'd not be unhappy with bank transfer. Insurance on delivery is dependent on courier; some (parcelforce) don't even give insurance, Interparcel/UPS might cost a nadge more (not always) but you are covered.
7.
What's the max power that this cab can handle
400w rms http://www.tcelectronic.com/rs212/tech-specs/
8. Lots of small lightweight bass cabs now available and not withstanding that I've not heard these, I'd say they are pricey when compared to the likes of TKS.
9. The click when switching between SS/tube is absolutely normal 'they all do it' and nothing to worry about! It was designed so that you would select your preferred tone and not be flicking mid gig/song. The amp likely as not won't get warmer than you've described because the casing is part of the heat dissipation and even in a case isn't a problem. ...great amps!
10. Was this a recent purchase?
11.
No it isn't
Correct! LOL Even when I went back and looked it still looked wrong initially.
12. Rarer than a rare thing... especially as it is LH!
13. Replacing pups wouldn't in and by itself guarantee you an aggressive modern tone, the tone of a bass is the same of the parts; is your MiM ash, whereas the JV Alder, weight/density/resonance all affect tone.
14. What's the difference with Tues/Wed/Thurs...?
15.
...and fir sale till Monday.......
What happens/changes on Monday?
16. '...with 9 days to run' Check back in 9 days!
17. I think it's referred to as the TV bass (just off to work so that is off the top of my head this morning and really should check) and it comes up as a topic of conversation/curiosity every now and again on various forums. However, we'll not derail the sale thread!
18. When you say you replaced the bright switch, is that a mod you/specialist/factory did?
19. Warwick Streamer (NT) 7lb 4oz... I also have an Aria Sinsonido which is lighter BUT some of the body is fresh air so it doesn't count IMHO.
20.
Tried to message him via facebook, but it seems to be locked down to outsiders - anyone have his email or anything? Or suggest anyone else? cheers Deek.
I'll message him and see what the craic is.
21. Now isn't that interesting! I've done an A/B with these in the flesh and I could defo tell them apart at the time BUT I'd be hard pushed to be 100% sure based on the recordings... though I 'think' I can tell which is which!
22. Rubbing down and rewaxing is fine (you can warm a bit of wax up and it will penetrate better but not compulsory). Shaving it down is another matter; I'm unsure how much meat can be taken off or how deep the truss rod rout is.
23. Love mine, more mwah than either the CS Dolphin Pro I or the USA Musicmans I've had.
24.
My main rig is built around a Tech Soundsystems Black Cat amp. 2 x 500W Valve/digital hybrid. The tone controls are subtle but the amp really lets the individual voice of the bass shine through rather than stamp its character all over the sound. Works for me.
Glad you still have that and that it's working for you. I know what you mean about subtle and also very interactive between the various EQs.
25. Lovely bass (I've owned two) but it's technically a Streamer 89 Ltd Ed as opposed to Stage I (which is a PJ derivative). It might be worth changing the title to draw in someone looking for something a it more special than a 'normal' Streamer.
