This really is a special bass, I should know and would love it back! Well worth the asking price.
I thought it looked like one of mine!
4. So tempted to get one of these and mod it with a 2nd 'bridge' pup!
5. Are there 4 pots and are the circuits attached to the pots (how deep are they)?
6. Was about to say that is a ridiculous price for such a rare bass, then I noted the bow! Still fixable by a competent luthier at a reasonable cost so worth a punt I'd have said.
7.
Ah thanks! I have only post 2000 basses and so far seem to be OK. What fails in the jack?
The whole socket is a sealed unit and it goes intermittent which just gets worse.
8.
What's up with the jacks on them? I've not had a problem with them.
I've owned (cough) ...a few Warwicks and I have to say that without exception each and everyone has either arrived with a dodgy socket or it has developed a fault (and no it is not my lead/me). The caveat being that I've not owned many post 00's basses but the socket issue isn't as a result of the basses I have had being ancient because I once ordered three new sockets direct from Warwick and they failed within a few years; fitted Soundcraft units and they are still going strong (inc' one that I have had for 20+ years: original socket failed 2 years after manufacture, replacement Soundcraft still going strong).
9. I've never heard anyone complain before of the fit and finish of Warwick basses, regardless of era. They may well have come and gone in fashion and the various efforts to improve the nut have been ludicrous (we won't mention the jack sockets ) and the neck profiles are certainly a marmite thing but construction wise I've always found them spot on with no shonky woodwork/necks etc.
10.
aguilar DB cabs?
Thats what I had my TF paired with and they were great!
11.
Are you pining for the TF again John?
In one!
12. Also sits in my top 3 amp list!
13. I'd never say 'never' but it is highly unlikely. I'm not interested in Jazz basses, a P bass is more likely to get my attention but TBH a Sadowsky PJ would be even more likely, as would a Zon Sonus or something left of centre BUT values would need to be realistic; I'd not want to do a straight swap for a bass that only cost £500-£600 new.

15.
Bridge is a Schaller 3D - pretty sure these pre-date JVs.
My point was that the JV is based upon a bass that predates Schaller, BADASS etc. Bent tin was the order of the day upon which the JV was based and bent tin it should have!
16. Google Calendar - all can share and members are told to block out other band commitments or family events/holidays etc. If it isn't in the diary then it is fair game to take a booking, saves ringing around everyone to see who is/is not available. First in gets it - you can't go jiggling gigs around and cancelling/rearranging gigs to suit individuals or for the better paid gig... that way madness lies!
17. I agree that it's a chancer who's bought a JV neck plate off ebay/web. I also loved the part about no parts changed; Yeh because JVs came with SD pups and modern bridges! What a plonker.
18. You could get it cheaper here... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/248662-fs-warwick-nt-ltd-2007-koa-top-4-string-l1500/
19. Lovely looking thing. Is it a trick of my monitor/screen but does it have someone's name on the back of the body... possibly under the paint?
20. Yep, in the obvious place (first page) hence missed it! LOL
21.
I think the auction listing says somewhere that all the instruments and amps are returned, B, or ex-demo stock.
I had a look but for the life of me can't find that info.
22.
This is more like a warehouse/repair centre being closed than just a stock clearance. All the tools and equipment including racking, lift trucks, scopes etc is also for sale.
Auction houses take stock from various sources and whatever is in-house when their sale date comes around gets sold. The racks, forklifts and other stuff is likely as not from various sources rather than one but saying that you'd need all of that stuff if it was from Peavey/TE distributor or whatever. I don't see it all being duff/returns/repairs as there are pages of stuff like pallets of Peavey drivers, horns, empty cabs, components etc.
23. Who knows for sure these are returns/seconds stock? As for not being bargains; if you get it for 50% of the new price (factoring in the 41% premium/tax) then how can it not be a bargain?
24. No matter if it is new/used/returns, you can bet this will 'in the short term' knock some 2nd hand values on BC/ebay etc. In fact I'd be frankly amazed if a fair chunk of it ended up being resold on BC!
