1. What if you're told there's something there , and there isn't ? What if it packs up/ makes dangerous noises when your banging away?
2. After searching for a Swedish drama to watch tonight ,I had to cave in and listen to something instead . Saw 1864 on bbciplayer - superb!! Looked for another one which is shown on a crappy itv station ( which is only available on sky) . As I have not got sky , I cannot watch it . It's about time Murdoch had a serious heart attack ..a @@ hole! Anyway, now listening to Timewind by Klaus schulze Not headphones , but Cambridge audio soundstage .
3.
Radio 1 today Ray and I know this is nobody's stuff but if this isn't number 1.....I'll eat me truss rod. Love it ............me Thank you colonel .gave that video about 5 seconds. Not metal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIJDD1Cldgc
4. That"ll look good on my Washburn status . That guitarist isnt enjoying himself is he ?
5. Great stuff. The problem I had when I had a spare string lying around, was when my cat was alive she loved playing with them .
6. I've got the toneport ux1 . It has podfarm as mentioned. It is very easy to join it with GarageBand , logic etc. the problems I find is that , it's too focused on guitars, and not enough bass models . The bass expansion pack is way too expensive IMHO. Also , not many people on basschat mention podfarm at all. Even line 6 don't seem to mention podfarm much these days .
7. Crikey ! Quite a few replies already. It dawned on me on Tuesday , on way back to hospital . On fast train, no bawling brats . Don't bother with headphones. In hospital, I never bothered . On the way home, semi fast train no baling brats . Today at home , I can't be bothered. I was thinking that , it must be a good thing to switch off for awhile and live headphone free for a few days . Surely there are some benefits ,
8. ..listening to music. I'm seeing how long I can do this for. Normally, I listen while commuting, and on a radio show some evenings. How about yourselves ?
9. Can't make it . Great band name . Great set by the look of it . Have a mental bump
10. And lowly string bump
11. Put a nice sticker on there instead ?
12. You are right. I did try that at first, but poxy spellchecker stopped me
13. Wow ! A lot of info here alteady;) I was thinking back, when I got both of my headless basses setup, they never had any light gage strings. I used to always go for the heaviest gage for years . Then , when I got my vester fretless ( which is not headless), I want everything as light as possible . I have no idea, what gage they are.
14. Looks like an unfinished aria pro. He must be struggling with demand at the moment . Needs to tidy up the repair shop
15. Don't start slapping everything you play ( unless it's already incorporated in your repertoire )
16.
As Bill says above, your ears adjust at high volume, to protect themselves, called temporary threshold shift. Which means you're too loud. No one wants to admit it, but if people are having to shout in each other's ears to place an order at the bar or decide to go for a fag then you've become too loud.
Yes!
17. Haven't read all of this thread yet . Sorry if I echo others . Sound checks can vary somewhat . (Ie barman says 'turn it down now !' Then when crowd arrives , you keep it at the level that you started with). I think a 250 watt head or combo is enough personally . One cab could be enough. I've never had the luxury of playing with more than one. Then of course, each venue has different acoustics and shoulld vary considerably . If you prefer a growly sound , an active bass would probably be best . If you want to make the whole place vibrate, get a telecaster bass ( single humbucker pickup) and an Aguilar head/ cab with no tweeter
18.
Comfortably Bum?
Ummerbummer
19.
I was in a Floyd tribute which had Chris Evans ex-wife as lead vocalist! We used to rehearse just outside Lenny Henry's house - the one he shared with Miss French. We were called Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. I didn't bother taking my coat off.
Best one yet! Could do a stoner version..shine on you lazy diamond ?
