1. Rich , I say spray it bottle green or yellow or seafoam. I'll stiop now.
2. Yes! As long as it looks ok . Can't see if hthe front has been modified ,as I m using iPhone
3.
I want to hear good music. If a bass solo sounds good then by all means! I don't care at all what instruments are used to make nice sounds. I care about the nice sounds.
+1 from me also
4. Speaking on a hard rock/ metal angle; When I started going to gigs back on the nwobhm guitar and drum solos were the norm. Especially big / outdoor gigs . I remember angelwich frontman doing a guitar solo at their gigs and he was dreadful ( probably the only person at ghe gigs who thought so). Ted nugent on the other hand, played entertaining guitar without excessive noodling . The power is in the song. Go forward to Metallica'live sh@t binge. & purge, all the band did a solo of some sort . Seek and destroy lasted ages so everyone gets a rest because of a 3 hour set. They could've done us all a favour and cut the set to 90 mins and saved us from the solos. With joe satrini , if stu Hamm is with him , then it's probably the best time to see a bass solo . Sheehan as mentioned also. When I saw scorpions on the crazy world tour, there was a solo there too. Unexpected and uninteresting . It reminded me of slap ( a trend that everyone is doing a bass solo for the sake of it). At dream theatre , it's expected but it's mainly inaudible and cr@p. Rammstein are my fave live band , probably ever and just put on a fantastic live show . Maiden don't bother either.. Kiss and Crüe do it , just for tackiness . I would expect to see bass solos at Jazz gigs , and would welcome it
5. Back in the early days of gigging ('80s) I had a peavey head amp. Got it for about £5o iirc. Great , big and heavy . A few years down the line , a friend of mine sold his peavy widow( or was it scorpion?) combo to me . All that had was an annoying hum as soon as I switched it on . Sounded good live when he used it . Just not good for home use I guess. So I sold it. No idea where it was made , but it was cr@p
6. It's holiday time , so you could withdraw sale for a while. Then end up keeping it
7. An original steinberger , or status . You can play anywhere with eithrr of those .
8.
Our drummer is only in one band. But that's because he's such a cantankerous git that no-one else could possibly put up with him - the miserable, boorish, anti-social, pessimistic, churlish, misanthropic old codger! But he's a really good drummer.
You play with ginger baker?
9. Probably the hardest part of band life - getting and keeping Mr. Or Mrs . Drums . I could've suggested getting a keyboard player that can program drums . The problem there , is you have to find that person. Another mountain to climb. Hope it works out for ya anyway
10. Nice basses! You need to go to the flea market to get another. I bet jack was happy that, he's no itching so much now . ( sorry)
11. Man were/ are a strange band ,from what I remember. They were a bit before my time (I started going to gigs in'79). Wharton do I remember about them? Greasy truckers party album, be good to yourself art least once a day, Bananas , country girl. Is Deke supposed to be a bit of a fruitcake then ? Enlighten me
12. I bought a small mini disc , to record band practices a few years back . When they came out minidiscs were way too expensive . The quality is superb tho ' shame they never took off like they should have . Have a bump
13. You'll do another one soon to make up for it . Have a rest . Sucking a fishermans friend may help
14. Saw them at wembley a few years back supporting dream theter. They were by far the better band.
15. I do love the look of a few boss pedals in their pedalboard. Years ago ,in a blues band Mr. Guitar had that setup and it looked and sounded great. I've gone for the rack versions of classic boss pedals ( boss micro br). I often wonder if I should swap for the pedal versions . I've got an overactive mind .
16. Woman - anti nowhere league Hi ho silver lining
17. Gotta think outside the box, when playing that
18. If I could play guitar, I would've had this. Ii cannot , but havre a bump instead;)
19. Wow! Things move fast . Seems like you were only talking about this the other dsy. I am unable to help, but will bump this for someone who can;) Hope you sort out out some sh@t kicking music soon .
20. I feel, your pain . At the end of the day, I wanna just do a simple recording and get put off by it all. Oh, and 'it's sooo easy to,use . Yeah , right . Hope you haven''t really done that , and that someone gives you the help you need .
21. I got my Telebass from beyers music. Nice guys . That looks like a bass that tm Stevens would use.very loud
22. There's a venue in Uxbridge called the crown& treaty. The last band I was in , were pushing for us to play there. A couple of the members used to follow a band of pros., who played there for beer money . Me,Mr.drums &Mr.Guitar went one Friday to see this band.( cannot remember band name). Anyhow, as soon as I went to buy a drink , 2 boilers from the Jeremy Kyle show started swearing and shouting at me telling me I stole their drink. I was polite , the barman helped me convince them it wasn't me and one of the boilers. calmed down. It was their way of saying 'it's my pub, who the f@@k are you!' I wonder what it would be like if I was playing, and I played a les Dawson passing note.
