2. Have you gone into your mac( and logic preferences VST?) ? Over to other basschatters
3. No bids. Ended. It's a semi acoustic ,isn't it ?
4. It's that man again he butchered it a little bit more than usual IMHO
5.
It's a revivial of a Cornish band called Hooked. Aiming at 75 -100 gigs/year. Like me, the band has been out of action around 8 months - time for a reboot!
That sounds like. Perfect timing all around . Hope it rocks !
6. They were good Kraft dinner;) saw them support priest back in the day .
7.
Send it back. If it's not right it'll bug you forever and getting a partial refund will be a right old palaver.
+1 . The jack socket looks ugly tho'. Fine bass otherwise
8.
Whenever I sell through BC. Gumtree or eBay I always mail the buyer and get the gear posted asap. Besides that's normal isn't it? Over the last month I've bought 2 basses and a small combo. I've still yet to receive anything! The seller of the first bass told me after me raising a case that he was locked out of his account. 2 weeks later I'm still waiting. Last week I bought another bass. A Squier VM Jazz. That still hasn't been posted, according to the eBay info anyway. 2-3 days ago I bought a combo. That's still not shipped. On all of these I'm also getting no response to messages. Is this becoming normal practice these days?
What I would suggest rich , is to wait for about a week ( max) for each item. If there is no communication within that time , or goods don't arrive, then get refunds. Hope it all works out
9. I'd just wait until the time expected, and pass judgement then. The worst thing to do , is to keep looking out of the window every half hour .
10. So do I My friend who plays keyboards showed me it in the sound on sound magazine . Very futuristic Price is too high tho ' Should be around the £400 IMHO
11. This is probably , the shortest band thread I've seen on Basschat Glad it's working out
12. Thanks dodge, but no . Reluctant sale , but wouldn't mind a headless 5 string in part exchange as times are hard. Glwts tho "
13. This is still here?? Holiday time I guess. Have another bump , for your patience
14. Reminds me of the malmsteen gig I went to at hammy o about 10 years ago. He threw the body of his 'strat ' into the crowd . It just missed my mates head as I grabbed it. I let my friend have it . Malmsteen will only sign anything with tge persons name , so as not to make money from his name . Back on topic ; too expensive for what It is . If Mr sixx was dead, then it's worth something .
15. Maike sure you have a band logo you can read. I've often stood outside the Astoria wondering , who the f@@k was playing ?! Death metal bands being the worst culprits
16. Sounds like you and Mr. Drums need to address the rest of the band , just before you are about to play your first song. You should always have a 10 min break or so midway through your practise to talk about the band in general and things should improve from there .
17. Make me an offer bump
18. I live in an upstairs maissonnette . This means the floors are carpeted. I have ceiling speakers in the bedroom & hallway. Tbh, I got talked out of putting them in the living room by a chap in Sevenoaks hi- fi . I use a combo playing Bass , but at a very reasonable volume . Amp is on a stand or table . Also , if the mood takes me , I play through my Mac computer with line 6 interface & studio monitors ( not loud tho'). No complaints from neighbour , although she will Have a fit when she notices I cut part of her climber down yesterday , before going to s korn gig.
19. Lots of good advice on both sides of the fence there. Looking at it from another perspective , have you thought about emigrating? To put it another way, it sounds like you are bored out of your mind , and could do with a life changing experience. IMHO there isn't much for the young folk to look forward to here( very little chance of you getting a mortgage / pension etc) With the musical knowledge you have, you could get extra cash by teaching . Plus you could play anywhere in the world for fun. You are young enough to try anything . The music business is so clinical these days , and lots of your time could be wasted listening to hopeful promises that lead to nothing, because you have the wrong nail varnish on your fingers and not enough tattoos .
