1. It's always a sticking point trying to get 'that' keyboard equivalent . On single notes , you can get many effects . Playing more than 2 notes seems to be the problem IMHO . I like the digitech bass synth wAh , and the old boss me8b . However , once you look on you pube , there are loads .
2. What about funerals ?
3.
What gets me about MacArthur Park isn't necessarily leaving the cake out in the rain, although that is a foolish thing to to. It is the fact that she'll never have that recipe again, why? Why did she get rid of the recipe, that is carelessness in the extreme, and what happened to it, did she leave it with the cake and the paper became so wet that it broke? Did she throw it in the bin? Did she accidentally drop it on a fire? Anyhow..... For mine: Wonderful tonight - Eric Clapton lay down Sally - Eric Clapton Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton I think you can see a theme
Totally agree about Clapton. Wonderful tonight is one of the worst things I have ever heard .
4.
Lighthouse Family - tuneless vocals used to drive me mad.
One band, where you can actually say 'it all sounds the same !' Very tedious
5. White stripes. That manic street screeches design for life ,or whatever it's called .
6. Highly strung bump
7. Some of the best Warwicks I've seen .
8. I imagine many got the needle today . I just can't get my head around record store day. The record/cd/ MP3 companies are behaving like bankers. Once I started offloading most of my vinyl for cd, I couldn't see the need to go back and buy something on vinyl that I had in the first place.
9. Quilted bump. More pics to follow
10. Somebody buy my Telebass , so I can buy this Bump
11. I thought east endears was depressing. This doesn't bode well for a first gig . Tell them you're washing the cat that night
12. A mixed bag really. TBH, more often or not, me and Mr. Guitar ( latter days Mr.Drums) were given most compliments . I think the reason for myself ,is because ,due to a way to beat the nerves , I used to pull funny faces / do cheesy rock poses a la rudy Sarzo . The last singer in my last band was great when auditioned/rehearsals. Trouble is , I wasn't impressed with him singing Fromm his lyric book at gigs .
13.
Or front man is a borderline mentalist, so he does command attention, even if it's not the sort of attention we would necessarily like... He does deflect attention away from the rest of us - a good thing as we're quite boring really.
You look worried there
14. I think it's best to do whatever feels right. When I first got a bass many moons ago, I thought that pick was the way to go. When I started learning properly, I changed to fingers only. Many years later, I realised how sloppy I could be , so I cleaned up my act and do both. When playing gigs doing finger only, I realised I was never gonna be stevie Harris . So I often played with one finger only for the entire gig. Hats off to cliff burton , playing full on thrash never using a pick
15. I'm not one for festivals, but I did enjoy Donington a couple of times on the '80s. ( and the Germany equivalent ). Not in my 20's anymore . However, if I did go to anything outdoors , it would have to be for a day . Pretty much a metal lineup if I'm lucky. Having said that , an ambient all dayer would be cool. Something like jarre& orbital royksopp etc
