RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE

Haven't read all of this thread yet . Sorry if I echo others . Sound checks can vary somewhat . (Ie barman says 'turn it down now !' Then when crowd arrives , you keep it at the level that you started with). I think a 250 watt head or combo is enough personally . One cab could be enough. I've never had the luxury of playing with more than one. Then of course, each venue has different acoustics and shoulld vary considerably . If you prefer a growly sound , an active bass would probably be best . If you want to make the whole place vibrate, get a telecaster bass ( single humbucker pickup) and an Aguilar head/ cab with no tweeter

I wouldn't . On one occasion tho' Mr.Drums cancelled without notice. The rest of us used the drum pattern on my zoom b2 and played the 4/4 songs a couple of times . It's times like this , when you know Mr.Drums is important ,)

Keep 'em all, and make a decision if you need cash for a purchase /trade etc.

He liked a party apparently. Did he do an album'make the party last ??

I'll have to check it out. I play bass like Les Dawson, so,I'm in no position to criticise really .

There seem to be quite a few Flying V ones around these days. Those ones I don't like . I'm blaming bill wyman. He has probably snapped up all the good ones

Bass direct have the xm2 ( full bodied bass) with TransTrem . They're asking for £1600. I have the version without the trans trem. Plus my one has the rare p/ j pickup version . I think it's a tad overpriced, but if I had the cash I would have to bite the bullet. Some say the trans trem system was very problematic . But I do like the idea of it being able to change your bass to bead just by locking the bar. Plus, it has a whammy bar . Good for metal.,
