1. Are you doing drop d for Mr. Vocal? If so, van halen, pant era etc. may be the way to go,or even thin lizzy. Normal tuning ; ufo , scorpions . Rivers of Babylon ,is a song I've always wanted to cover
2. A few months ago, I thought about getting a cheap guitar . Only because , I wanted to record something else instead of bass and apps. Then , I realised what a waste of time it would be . A guitar feels like a Chad valley kids toy in my hands . No feeling .
3. When I bought an amp off eBay a few years back, the ad said ' not using amp anymore going computer instead.' I was gigging at the time and thought no more about it. A few years( and a couple of amps later), I bought a gk combo incase I join another band. Almost 5 years later, and I havent . I'm wondering whether to offload it, as I have line 6 podfarm and studio monitors . Then again recently , I've been looking at the Roland cube/ micro cubes with built in drum machines / effects etc. I notice that guitarists always have an amp at home to match their axe . Maybe you should get one
4. Did you manage to chat to them ,and give them some input ?
5. I had a bass amp cutting out intermittently ,and the guitarist had to get a replacement before we started. Touch and go, as to,whether the replacement would reach us in Time . Okay, that was hired equipment . As we were quite angry, we managed to do a great version of pretty vacant ,complete with amp, kicking syndrome .
6. What if you're told there's something there , and there isn't ? What if it packs up/ makes dangerous noises when your banging away?
7. After searching for a Swedish drama to watch tonight ,I had to cave in and listen to something instead . Saw 1864 on bbciplayer - superb!! Looked for another one which is shown on a crappy itv station ( which is only available on sky) . As I have not got sky , I cannot watch it . It's about time Murdoch had a serious heart attack ..a @@ hole! Anyway, now listening to Timewind by Klaus schulze Not headphones , but Cambridge audio soundstage .
8.
Radio 1 today Ray and I know this is nobody's stuff but if this isn't number 1.....I'll eat me truss rod. Love it ............me Thank you colonel .gave that video about 5 seconds. Not metal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIJDD1Cldgc
9. That"ll look good on my Washburn status . That guitarist isnt enjoying himself is he ?
10. Great stuff. The problem I had when I had a spare string lying around, was when my cat was alive she loved playing with them .
11. I've got the toneport ux1 . It has podfarm as mentioned. It is very easy to join it with GarageBand , logic etc. the problems I find is that , it's too focused on guitars, and not enough bass models . The bass expansion pack is way too expensive IMHO. Also , not many people on basschat mention podfarm at all. Even line 6 don't seem to mention podfarm much these days .
12. Crikey ! Quite a few replies already. It dawned on me on Tuesday , on way back to hospital . On fast train, no bawling brats . Don't bother with headphones. In hospital, I never bothered . On the way home, semi fast train no baling brats . Today at home , I can't be bothered. I was thinking that , it must be a good thing to switch off for awhile and live headphone free for a few days . Surely there are some benefits ,
13. ..listening to music. I'm seeing how long I can do this for. Normally, I listen while commuting, and on a radio show some evenings. How about yourselves ?
14. Can't make it . Great band name . Great set by the look of it . Have a mental bump
15. And lowly string bump
16. Put a nice sticker on there instead ?
17. You are right. I did try that at first, but poxy spellchecker stopped me
18. Wow ! A lot of info here alteady;) I was thinking back, when I got both of my headless basses setup, they never had any light gage strings. I used to always go for the heaviest gage for years . Then , when I got my vester fretless ( which is not headless), I want everything as light as possible . I have no idea, what gage they are.
19. Looks like an unfinished aria pro. He must be struggling with demand at the moment . Needs to tidy up the repair shop
20. Don't start slapping everything you play ( unless it's already incorporated in your repertoire )
21.
As Bill says above, your ears adjust at high volume, to protect themselves, called temporary threshold shift. Which means you're too loud. No one wants to admit it, but if people are having to shout in each other's ears to place an order at the bar or decide to go for a fag then you've become too loud.
Yes!
