1. Have you played it through headphones ? Surprising that nobody else on here seems to have one of these.
2. How bizarre;) I also had the behringet . As I say , I was thinking of getting the expansion pack . Btw; what bass are you using ? What are you playing your toneport through .?
3. I've got it installed on my Mac mini. Great unit . I've got studio monitors which help. I like the podfarm. One of my fave presets is pawn shop punk. Think it's for guitarists. There are a few bass amps on there. Haven't bought the bass expansion pack ,as it's about £50 I think. It's great for guitarists tho'. Persevere, is what I say. It works with garageband or other program's also.
4. Oh I forgot, it's a dad thing. Metal is terrible;) What bands are emo? I'm out of touch myself .
5. Metal is not rubbish. Not everyone's cup of tea, but no need to generalise;) .H ow long has he being seeing the teacher .? Is it a paid teacher, or school teacher? What he could do, is ask teacher to learn him one song that he likes. He should incorporate that with his ordinary lesson.imho. What does he sound like, when you hear him? Could he do with an effects unit for motivation? He could learn bass also. Why not ?
6. Have you heard of staahtus quo ?
7. It'll probably be around for months. 29 day listing or something at the moment.
8. Be rtbass has got me thinking about the boss unit above . Does anybody think that these are what I might need?
9. That's the thing. IMHO , unless you are going down the producer route, it shouldn't be sola laborious . Believe it or not, I used to be brilliant doing cassette compilation s.back in the day. I wish there was a straightforward way of recording with peak meters rather than graphs. I know a couple of genius's recording wise. They are great electronic keyboard players. It seems a doddle for them.
10.
Me and Vic from Bassgear are going too
Cool;)
11. You may need to send it down to me to have a look at it. Getting it back may be a problem tho'.
12. I suppose I'll get away with only playing bass, on this site;)
13.
I know where you're coming from - I struggle composing stuff too - I use Band In a Box, but there a only a few Real Band sounds that I like. I spend hours inputting chords and then changing them because they're not quite right....put in a middle 8 and make the chords too complicated so can never find a way back to the verse! I find it's better if I noodle on the piano first..... I've sussed the recording side of things with my sax over playalong backing tracks - I use my clip on Shure condenser mic into the PC and I use Audacity - that works really well. I don't have the gear to record the bass properly (will need a mixer so I'm told ) so I've been using a hand held Zoom just recording the sound from the Hi-Fi and the bass amp....pretty rubbish results! ( it doesn't help that I'm not much of a bass player either )
You sound very talented. Btw; I use podfarm for bass( lots of amps and effects). It came with my toneport interface. I thought about the zoom . Still pondering. Unfortunately, I only play bass. Can make various synth noises. If I try stuff like nine inch nails, it's more ' council tax.'oh well..
14. How do you get on with mr.drums? What bass is that anyway? Maybe you could get a small rubber toy like kermit or something.
15. My cat used to love them .
16. I was thinking along the collaborator route.( honestly) but of course I have no idea who, where etc
17. Thanks for that skidder. Sorry , but it looks too complicated for me
18. Well, I certainly know my limitations. I'm more capt. Than michael manring . I have a lot of stuff that works .(loads of swooshing synths etc). Putting it together is a big issue here. Putting drum samples in is so annoying also. All of this is more complex than a couple of akai cassette decks
19.
I swapped to Reaper on the PC as GarageBand on a Mac was way too flaky to do any serious work on.
If I had a PC, I would fear the reaper
20. Well, you know the score;) I'll make more of an effort now . While I'm writing this, I might as well mention how I got involved in recording bits.. Went to rockstop near Denmark street, asking for something to record my bass to my mac. I came out with line 6 gearbox( now toneport ux1/ podfarm). Love the design. Then I got stuck. Read a few tutorials on garageband . Then I found it too daunting. Got more confident with it, but still could only do basic stuff with one drum pattern all the way through. Being in bands, and working made me lapse and not bother for years. Now I'm not in bands, but am getting agitated.
21. Thanks again ambient. I have logic express ( think its 9) .
