1. Interesting topic. I find recording annoying.. Let's see some more input ...
2. Not a steinberger IMHO . Looks like a custom build. Doubt if it's worth as much as he says. Over to others on here, and see what they think ...
3. Interesting question. Have you thought about an app, on your pad/phone etc.?
4. Not read all of this thread yet. I remember the rudy sarzo technique . By using just the middle finger( yes Really). The tone will be even .as seen on his hot licks video;)
5. Vester custom shop . Fantastic fretless . If you get the chance, grab one of those
6. I got an email from apple telling me about it. I pressed the reply button , politely telling them I don't want it . Not that iits gonna make a difference .
7.
Status making ironing board covers - times must be hard
I suppose it will all come out in the wash, as to what it is
8. That's one cool status. Times are hard ;(
9. Just thinking, all this advice given to op on here. He may be better putting a cushion over the amp;) look forward to see what he is gonna do.
10. Regarding the audio interface, I use toneport ux1 from line 6. Plug into computer, and I have a few bass amps in there.( loads of guitar stuff).. That's assuming the op may want an interface
11. Nice bass! Already have a steinberger , and times are hard. The action on these are great. Perfect for slap and 2 handed tapping.( not that I was any good at it
12. I can see his point. Rock will be seriously wounded but not totally dead IMHO
13. Obviously nor a Berger . Looks like a nice backup bass tho'
14. If it's just for home practice , why not get some studio monitors and plug your bass into your PC/ Mac. ?
15. Tired at the moment, but off top of my head, I would say early Saxon /Judas Priest ?
16. He's playing London this month. Think I'll be in Ireland when that gig is on ;( winery dogs were totally brilliant at the underworld a few weeks ago.
17. Drummer at wrong rehearsal room not the wrong gig. ?
18. I used to like rehearsing , when things were 'proper' . This would mean that ; the rehearsal room was adequate , not tiny . Your ears would not be ringing for the rest of the day/night . The other band members always knew when to look after the kids , and not have them brought along bored for 3 hours . Never got the weeks mixed up. Songs were learnt by all for the next rehearsal . No bitchy comments if there were difficult parts of a song that had to be ironed out. This was rare, hence me not being in a band for. 4 years ..
19. I have a Washburn status. Notoriously bright, very trebly , perfect for slap tone. Loved that tone . Various covers bands preferred the Hohner professional sound, which was passive . I had a few problems with my Washburn circuitry. Graham Noden of Denmark street mentioned that in the '80s , a lot of active pickups were just put into basses with mixed results. He tested the strength of my stock status pickups and decided that they were strong enough to be made passive, without sounding weak. Result being a much warmer and adaptable sound. It sounds like the op would be better off with a tele bass with just the one humbucker , with his musical preferences. Or , a headless bass which has a passive/active switch.
20. Denmark street?( ok, it's the west tend ...)
21. I've done the doorstep challenge, and slammed the door shut on Shane Richie . That doesn't count tho ' does it ?
22.
I'm more of a guitarist than a bassist if truth be told. This is my main guitar, self built. Actually I posted a thread about making it here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/210039-so-i-built-my-ideal-guitar/
Made in China ?
