1. Boss or digitech? Behringer are the cheapest tho'.(probably)
2. Never leave your bass in that situation. The op is lucky it wasn't marked/damaged.
3. Left= loose !right = tight
4. Why not keep the basses you have ? Buy a sans amp or similar, for when you want to get the sound you're after. That way, you are used to what you already have, and can adapt to any situation band or home use. Probably the least orthodox reply on this thread
5. Mmmm ,maybe something like the sonus(poxy spellchecker), would be more suitable . I like the look of it myself. Think it's called the b2m or something ...
6. Depends really. Playing synth effects with bass can be a bit Lionel messi. Single / root notes is probably best. Digitech bass/synth /wAh is cheap and cheerful . Often sold on here. A lot of multi fx have them already . Depends on the material you play .
7. Great unit for the price here. Great through headphones too. May try plugging into my mac over the weekend to record .
8. I have a toneport ux1. At work now. May help u later when get home . Are you using Mac?
9. Have you gone into preferences / midii settings etc ?
10. I had a few issues a few months ago . On the end, I think I put. a few zeros on the end ...
11. Got mine when it first came out'96?) Took me ages to fathom it out. Manual was complicated at the time . Brilliant with the expression pedal .
12. A friend of mine has started buying vinyl again. I gave him a lot of albums /12" I had which I cannot see myself listening to again . These include ; the groundhogs/ atomic rooster/ ted nugent / hawkwind. I purchased the deluxe cd box set of hawkwind Warrior on the edge of time at Christmas . Tbh , after a few plays I lost the will to listen to it anymore. This being arguably their best album. I feel that by listening ( and seeing) rammstein opeth etc I'm still not out of touch with what's going on. I do regret discarding my 7" chart singles in'79 when I first started going to gigs and becoming a headbanger . Having said that I've still got Abbas greatest hits. Gotta get the very early albums now. As we get older our minds get more mature and we are open to whatever rocks our boat. Just waiting for the new rammstein /Metallica / tangerine dream /rush
13. One of those top shops in Camden do it. Memory gone blank
14. Someone will have more input ; If you're curious , why not have your bass half fretted( high end) and fretless at the low end? I'd imagine the cost would be around£80-110?
15. One of the best frontmen in rock. Most rock covers bands play lizzy as standards . Not much more to say at the moment;)
16. Thanks , but the TV stand I have is ideal.
17. Thanks roger;) in my previous post, the sub you mentioned was recommended by dingus I think . I've been looking at these on the bay. Look good .
18. Following on from my 'bookshelf speaker v soundbar ' topic, I'm not quite sure what's better for my situation in an upstars maisonette. I received a lot of great advice from many on here , in that previous topic. The outcome is to stay with my bookshelf speakers on stands(b&w 601s), and avoid the soundbar. I was set to get a subwoofer off fleabay, but then realised how boomy that may be for the neighbours. If I didn't have to place the subwoofer on the floor, I would have went for that. So, the (final) question is; should I invest in a centre speaker instead? Cheers;)
19. If you were going for 5 strings, I would say go for the synapse bass that someone is selling here. You can't go wrong with steinberger IMHO . Most are expensive tho ' . Not sure of the spirit brand, which are cheaper. Hohners (steinberger copies) have a great action. I find the sound abit wooly on the passive models. Apparently , the active ones are good. All models mentioned are headless
20.
As you can see, no scratch plate and lots of chrome is the way to go:
Cool bass
21.
Here's mines. Don't get much use these days though the black B-10 new strings and a set up recently.
Cool basses! The middle one rocks! Good for (hair) metal
22. Fantastic selection of effects there. Have a bump;)
23. I supposed things have moved on technically now. Back on the '90s for a birthday gig, we bought some ice from a place in Greenwich . Apparently, it was dangerous to touch . We borrowed a tea urn from the office and mixed the ice in it . Unfortunately , despite mr. Guitar burning his foot during the process of setting bit all up, we were not allowed to use it . Looked great in the office tho'
24. Nice basses Washburn . I always remember the ad, with 2 of these models next to a Washburn status. I was a hair metaller at the time , but got the Washburn status. Looked a bit odd, me with loads of hair and a slayer t shirt playing that. Much less hair now , so the status suits me
25. After having my headless basses setup a few years ago , I was told that they could only fit on standard headless strings. After using the fretless the other day which is not headless, I prefer the feel of that . So , I'm wondering if the light strings will improve things . Cheers
