  1. 1. Look along the neck - compare it to the super straight string. Is it straight or a little bowed. Ideally you want a tiny bit of forward bow (relief). 2. String height - a good starting point is to slide a 10p piece under the strings, on top of the 12th fret - it should just catch on the string... Adjust bridge saddles to suit. 3. Now have a look at the bridge saddles - are they fully down on the plate or way high with the screws maxed out? Ideal is about half way through their adjustment range. If way out the neck angle is wrong. 4. Nut height - this may be your problem. Fret each string at the 3rd fret and slide a strip of paper (standard copier paper) between 1st fret and string - it should just fit - more than a double thickness or less than the single paper is a problem. 5. Check for high/low frets - a straight edge or fret rocker is needed here. To fix 1 requires a truss rod adjustment - with the correct size tool, a newish instrument (and some common sense) this can be attempted - should only take a quarter/half turn. Otherwise requires a visit to a bass tech... To fix 3 requires a shim in the neck pocket. To fix 4 & 5 requires a visit to a bass tech and either a replacement nut or some filing.
  2. I'm playing bass or guitar, for one to two hours most days. The most practicing I've ever done.
  3. There's this (somewhat dubious) article MyVolts 14V DC power cable compatible with Creative D200 Bluetooth speaker - UK plug: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories 14VDC 2A - doesn't show if it's centre hot or not, or what size DC connector - might be work asking...
  4. Most of my basses get a quarter turn on the truss rod, sometime in spring and autumn, as the weather changes...
  5. Check you are going into an XLR line input and not an XLR mic input - it may be switchable.
  6. Truss rod plug looks black so Mex or Squire?
  7. Use the DI - balanced XLR to Behringer XLR input - you then have the Ashdown's excellent EQ and compression.
  8. DI from the amp to the U2 will allow use of the EQ on the amp (what amp?) - bass direct may sound a bit thin. Do a test recording using both methods and see which you prefer...

  15. I put a strap on an instrument and leave it on there. Only comes off for major maintenance etc. So, every guitar gets a strap. This is the way.
  16. Presonus Eris 4.5 Presonus Eris E4.5 Near Field Active Studio Monitor (Pair) (dawsons.co.uk) £165.00 - they were a bit cheaper recently - hard to beat at the price

  18. It's usually because the red stain has faded; it's the same with burst colours - red is the first to go.
  19. The D'Addario mini one https://www.daddario.com/products/accessories/tuners/micro-headstock-tuner/ sits nicely on the back of the headstock below the E tuner... easy to see for the player. It's a bit fussy about reading low E - needs a harmonic ping.
  20. Yes, run as dual mono or in bridge mode mono, if the amp does this.
