1. ***Price drop 300 pounds! *** Here is a 'fine' example of a fender aerodyne Jazz bass. This has been well gigged and well abused. Good things: Its a great bass. Plays well, sounds amazing, and has a lovely neck. This was my main bass up until a few years ago. It has a Seymour duncan jazz pickup which is buzz free. You'll get the original supplied in the sale. Relatively rare. Tuners are immense, tuning is rock solid. The back doesnt look nearly as bad as the photo suggests Bad things: body work pretty poor. its been scraped, and burned and looks a bit sorry for itself. I've recently sprayed the back with the genuine candy apple red spray paint but obviously this was just a hash job and only looks fine under stage lights. In fact the whole body looks abit scabby but ok, under stage lights, but under daylight its a different matter. the electrics need a once over. Everything works, but just a bit crackly. Knobs are tarnished through use. Overall needs TLC. If you're looking for a recording bass, then this is what you need. a wee bit of work and it'll be back to its best. Could be cool as a live bass too if you accept the scrappy look. I love this bass, but its been sitting under my bed for about 2 years literally not doing anything, so I think i want to move it on. No other reason than that. I can deliver within 30 miles of Glasgow for petrol cost. can meet up in city centre too. Delivery set at £30.00 to UK, but you can arrange courier no probs.
2. Price drop... 200 pounds delivered NOW INCLUDING HARDCASE Here is my #1 bass. I've been using this for nearly 2 years as my 'go to' for every gig and session I've done since I've owned it. Plays really nicely, and has a very punchy sound to it. Roll off the bridge pickup though, and you get a very different beast! I recommend these basses whenever someone wants to buy a £200-£300 bass. I've yet to play a bass in that price range that beats this for play ability and sound. This comes with a Babicz bridge which adds sustain. Neck is slim in my opinion, and I've had the action low on it (although its a little higher at the moment because last gig I did was a recording thing and needed to be super clean) I'm selling simply because I want to try something new. Not for any reason other than GAS! I've had a good look and there's a few little dings, but the paintwork as far as i can see is perfect. electronics are fine. One of the tiny screws is missing from the bridge, however this has never had any impact on the saddle. I can deliver within 30 miles of glasgow for petrol cost, and can meet up in Glasgow city no probs.
3. Bass collection jazz bass Fender aerodyne jazz Into Zoom b3n Into (when an amp is needed) Carvin mb10 combo with homebuilt 1x10 ext cab Cheap and cheerful but does exactly what I want and sounds great!
4. As long as your expectations are realistic then it'll work fine.
5. Maybe you're right. Looks like you are. I'll withdraw my query.
6. I know, but the ms60b allowed me to do it
7. Yep, I'd stick to the phaser. Compressor then phaser
8. I could easily get a perfectly giggable setup for under 200 cabbage. In fact, you could probably push it under 150 if you could afford to wait for the deals to appear. My #1 bass was 250 second hand, and my amp was 200 quid second hand. So, even my current 'decent' setup was pretty cheap!
9. Just realised, the b3n doesn't have the line selector option. Does anyone have a way round to get dry signal out output 1 and effected signal out output 2?
10. This is my new setup! Extremely happy with it. Don't currently have any need for anything else and the pres on it are awesome so this should be me for the foreseeable...
11. Bear in mind too, what you hear on stage is not necessarily what is out front, if you're all going through pa. Especially of your standing right close to your amp. I'll just repeat mostly what's already been said, boost the low mids slightly and just savour the sound of guitar/bass/drums. It's a lovely sound and I particularly like the 'holes' when the guitarist solos!
12. It's an eminence basslite s2010. To give myself some credit, I took the volume of enclosure recommended by eminence and built this with the same depth and width as my current combo, therefore this should fit reasonablely well underneath it. Ive got corner protector bits to put on too. All I need is a handle. I've got one which I was planning to use but it's huge and I would be worried about cutting out the size of the hole needed for it. If it works OK and sounds fine I'll just pick up a strap style handle I think.
13. You may or may not have noticed, over the past few years I've been in and out of everyone's cab build threads, picking up valuable information and tips on how to go about my own build. I took everything I learned and ignored pretty much every single part of it! I used mdf... I didn't tune it... I've not vented it... I didn't recess the speaker.... And this is the result! ? ? I can't even test it as my only amps at our rehearsal room! Doh! I should add, the only outlay I had was 8 quid for the glue. Everything else (down to the paint) is stuff I've had lying about, so don't feel too bad for me when you're checking out my attempt!
14. I'm very much in the 'flip it, why not give it a go and see what happens' camp. Not everyone needs to know how things work. noone gets hurt, and as long as you're prepared for the worst case scenario then I say go for it! ? (Terrible advice)
15. These are tremendous. I had a set for a while and lost them, and bought a similarly priced set which are rubbish. So much so I went straight online to purchase these again. If you're a kind of person who never loses things then I'd certainly be inclined to get moulded ones but it's j st not feasible for me as I tend to lose them regularly. 20 quid well spent though Edt: talking about the alpine ones. Very comfortable too
16. I wouldn't be surprised he occasionally has a nosey in here.
17. As a total aside, I like you jet photos!
18. Damn, I forgot about Mr big gig! For anyone unsure of Billy's sound, I can vouch for his live tone... It really works! One thing I'm pretty surprised about though is Billy with a beer! I got the impression he was one of those live clean kinda guys! Dunno why!
19. I've always been impressed with Roland bass cubes.
20. Although I like the guy and like a lot of stuff he's played on, I have to agree with this. I find alot of his YouTube stuff is pretty average. I think his theory is outstanding, but technique a bit sloppy.
21. I upgraded speakers in an old 2x10 cab i had. Basslite s2010 were the speakers. I may have been lucky but they improved the cabinet immensely.
22.
I know it's a guitar demo, but see how close this is.... http://www.youtube.c...1&v=wC-TU-3TdeE
That's incredible!
23. I use one as I find it gives a more even volume over the 4 strings. But, if I don't have compression then it's not a huge deal for me. In fact, unless I was using the one in my multifx, then I wouldn't be getting a separate one. I would hazard a guess alot of bass players are similar to op and use one because that's what bass players are 'meant to do', rather than using one because they think it makes a difference.
24. I'm considering the cab, so I'd quite like to hear your thoughts and comments after a dozen or so gigs. Keep us informed!
