When I was looking into getting a CTM 15, I seem to remember reading something from Ashdown along the lines of "15 watts of all valve power", which, technically, is correct, as the phase splitter and power stage IS all valve! I've used it for recording bass and guitar, and like the sound it makes, but, since they are using a solid state front end, I'd have preferred a proper 3 band +/- 15dB eq over the old fashioned valve-style interactive eq. And like Bigwan here, am not sure about the tone change as you wind the gain up. I've also gigged it twice using 2 12" cabs and I liked it!

I've got a 24v brushless motor fan somewhere at work, think it's 100mm square. They are fairly quiet, can't say if it would be any better than what you currently have, but you're welcome to it if it suits.

It sounds to me like they may have fitted an incorrect value potentiometer for the volume control. Is there the option of taking it back to the vendor? Another thing: is the compressor engaged?

My Trace Acoustic cube has a notch filter for this. It's a narrow frequency filter that you can tune to your problematic frequency. They also do it in an acoustic preamp pedal. I've not used it with acoustic bass, but it should work a treat.

5 wall hangers in the office, 3 on a stand in the spare room and 1 leaning against a wall, 3 basses, 6 guitars. Amps, cabs, drum kit all set up in the rear third of the garage I've had boxed in and insulated. Oh, and the recording gear too.

Anyone used the q100 for home studio mixing? Just wondering if they'd be any use, similar coaxial idea to those equator d5 squeakers.
