  1. That’s quite a bargain.
  2. Peerless in Korea made semis for Gretsch, Ibanez, Epiphone (including the Jack Casady) but production costs got too high so they lost the contract and now produce their own brand.
  3. Dock of the bay - Otis Reading
  4. I agree with @Boodang having recently switched to an EUB it kind of forces you to play less, in a good way!
  5. Selling this and your white Jazz? What will you have left to play? Any trades?
  6. It’s interesting and very melodic. Tapping on an unmarked fretless takes some doing.
  7. Not fade away - Rolling Bones
  8. That’s going to be a difficult one! Thinking about it, it is just a piece of metal bent to a given shape with some attachment screws. I wonder whether a traditional plumber, not a plastic push together man, but one who knows how to bend copper pipe, could shape you one if you drew a template. Flatten the ends drill holes in the right place then screw to your bass. Might work? Good luck.🤞
  9. It’s my party - Lesley Gore
  10. Alternatively abandon all pedals and just go for a great BASS sound! After all the bass is part of the rhythm section and distorting or artificially extending the sustain is not complementary to rhythm. Leave the effects to the show offs playing 6. The caveat to this is compression which is probably built in to your amp and if playing fretless, a little ( very little) chorus might enhance the sound, or so Pino says.
  11. Yep, got both films on DVD in a box set. John Goodman was a real surprise in the 2nd, he can really sing.
  12. Bluegrass bass player Reed Jones seems to cope well with moving the NS bass in and out to add his vocals using the NS Endpin.
  13. Love your Blues Brothers poster in the background. One of my favourite films & I liked the Sequel B.B. 2000. Most of the band in the 2nd film toured a show which I got to see at the Festival Hall in London featuring of course the late lamented Duck on bass.
  14. I love his bass guitar work. Studying with Bunny paid off. Saw KE live a few years back in the rather unlikely venue of the Tivoli Theatre, Wimborne. He’d just taken delivery of a new bass to replace his green fretted. Asked him who had made it but he would only say in London, he seems to only like 1 body shape.
  15. Leaning on a lamppost- George Formby
  16. There’s an awful lot of 5ers for sale on here.
  17. I’ve got several KE albums but don’t know Metropolitan, I’ll have to look it out for a listen.
  18. I reckon he thought he was being really Soulful doing a Marcus Miller type thing, but totally failing. The producer should have cut it out.
  19. Sugar and Spice - The Searchers
  20. I’ll give the NS Design NXT the thumbs up. I bought a 2nd hand one partly for its pedigree and thinking if I don’t get on with it I’d get my money back. There are a lot of highly respected endorsees out there. So far it’s proving to be a success.
  21. It looks like that’s been made very playable. Did the bridge cost more than the guitar did originally. I’ll double the previous offer and collect to save you having to pack it 😆
  22. That’s the one 👍🏼😁
  23. It depends what you mean by ground breaking. The Gibson EB2/Epiphone Rivoli changed the sound of pop music - the British Invasion, the Rickenbacker clank, an Alembic - active electronics.
  24. I remember a maker (possibly Wilkinson) putting a metal plate near the top of a Fretless fingerboard to enable slap on Fretless. But as NickA says it’s so not NOW.
