I saw him at the Festival Hall, London when they toured the Blues Brothers band after the “2000” film came out. He was playing the Fender DDD signature bass with the duck on the pick guard. He and Steve Cropper we’re obviously having a ball being out on the road again and sounded phenomenal even without Dan Ackroyd on vocals. As a bonus they had Eddie ( knock on wood) Floyd with them,

Look for something 2nd hand for your first bass then if you don’t take to it you can sell it on without a huge loss. Given your list of styles think about one of Spector’s Korean models, great value, really versatile and reasonable.

I see these have a proper 4 pole pickup. When I had. A Fender one back in the 70’s it was fitted with a strat pickup, which I didn’t know back then.

Just come off a cruise to Alaska where one of the bands was an all girl group from Argentina- the Shelleys. They played some good jazz and Latin style music. I tried to download my video but it’s too large a file.
