6 string fretless sounds a bit if a handful. I had a 5 string fretless and that was enough!

Did you buy a Dean in the end? I got a 4 string in a trade and I must say the quality, playability and sound is excellent, right up there with the Fender ( MIM) & Spector ( MIK) that I own.

It just looks unfinished to me 👎

Really? It’s a bass with nearly a £4 grand price tag, it could be a very expensive mistake. There must be something out there that’s fretless and better than the Sire you’ve got, maybe a TRB would be similar to the NE2 and they are available fretless. When I saw Nathan live he used a 6 string TRB for virtually the whole concert. The NE2 sat there as his spare.
