I unplug the laptop when I record. It solved my problems.Ibought behringer hd400 but was useless so I sent it back. Ola Englud recommends this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003PJ6NPO/?tag=dnulgn-20

Thanks for your in depth reply. This sounds quite complex. I've been mixing and recording with headphones and my hearing now suffers. I'll give acoustic panels a go and see how I get on.Thanks again.

Great post @Skol303 I'll be hopefully getting a music room, but these traps will make the room smaller. As you pointed out to Jus lukin, 2" thickness wouldn't help with the low end but it's better than nothing. What else would you recommend. Would egg boxes be of any use as a starring point? Thanks. The room will have laminate floor and Persian style carpet in the middle. Two walls joining together one window each.

I have the same issue and the behringer box want back to Amazon promptly. The way I tackle ground loop is this. When I record , I pull out the jack end of the power source for the laptop. This instantly kills the ground loop. I plug it back in when I listen to track or mix/master/edit. Someone recommended this. I have not tried it.

This looks very similar to the one I have. Mine has Made in Japan on neck plate but still can't find a solid answer what it is despite several constructive suggestions by b chatters. But it sounds awesome and is a keeper. It feels heavy nearly like my Japanese p bass Steve Harrris sig.

Squier jazz bass replacement pickups recommendation
SH73 replied to timmygospel's topic in Bass Guitars
I replaced the stock pick ups on my Squier CV jazz bass with Seymour Duncan pick ups. It can sound very growly when I want to. Very versatile bass. -
Very artistic looking

Did he beat it or is he sticking around?

Fingers, but lately started writing trash metal songs and find the pick style playing cut through better without too much eq.

Greatest bassists in rock history... Used Marshall amps?
SH73 replied to dishwallascot's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure if Steve Harris used Marshall amps. Possibly during his early amateur days. He uses Marshall cabinets fitted with EV though. They look pretty old and battered from touring. I saw them from about 5 metres distance. His amps were trace Elliot, hiwatt, recently ish endorsed by Orange. He is not a tech.when it comes to his gear unlike other bassist. He's more into engineering side and production.- 38 replies

Good read. I've only started playing with a pick not that long ago.

This was my first ever bass in 1989.It was blue/green. I wish I still had it 😐 Here is a screenshot I found.

I have the same colour scheme in Squier CV jazz.

I've been recently experimenting with virtual amps and the best sounding amps were Messa dual rectifier and ENGL powerball.

I have the same issue. I tried to record a solo to 175 bpm riffs I pre recorded but failed. Eventually I recorded the solo at 170 bpm in parts then sped it back to 175 bpm.

Not when you encounter the moped thiefs. One of the biggest problem in London regarding crime.

I think lots of it is down to the vast array of cheap and good sounding guitars on the market. Let's face it, you can buy a guitar, laptop and DAW nowadays for the price of a decent Gibson or Fender to get a quality recorded sound. Don't forget the signature models of less famous guitar players. The guitars look modern, light and good quality. I'd still like a Fender and a Gibson though.

I can't come up with any ideas despite downloading some free vst plug ins. I was also away skiing but the culture abroad did not motivate me either. But managed to compose three thrash metal songs instead 😊🤘

Never heard of Quincy before but the article had some interesting points. Ringo's drumming "skills " have never impressed me. Paul McC.hmmm. Anyways, I do like some Beatles songs.
