  1. As a Maiden fan I don't think I would be bothered with Steve's moves etc I'd rather play the songs to myself at home.
  2. I've always wanted a Gibson Les Paul but the models I like seem to be well overpriced. I own an Epiphone made in Korean factory and can't fault it. I think the issue is that there are competitive priced models available on the market like Harley Benton and Chinese fakes like Chibson. Also a cheap bad playing and bad sounding guitar can be moded saving hundreds of pounds. Often the guitar reviewed on You Tube are heavily processed. Who can justify spending thousands on a Gibson if for the same money you could get a guitar, laptop, DAW, software and speakers/ headphones and you're set up. For a live situation a full guitar gig gear without draining your bank account. Nevertheless I'd like a flame top G.
  3. I don't even get chance to eat. Can't believe people get paid for playing with nerf guns.
  4. Playing guitar at work? What a luxury!
  5. Fingers except trash metal songs I have started experimenting with using plectrum as it seems to cut through and sit in the mix nicely. But for me is mostly.... dang da da dang da da dang da da.... I was able to do triplets before I started playing bass.
  6. Unfortunately staff just follow the company's policies. It's an derrière covering exercise. It's OK for them to be overzealous when not accepting id such as utility bill and expired passport. But it's also acceptable to leave a post/parcel outside ( in the rain) the house then mark up tracking: Your parcel has been delivered and handed over to recipient'.
  7. Will likely miss this month due busy schedule. Every time I listen to entries it makes me think. So many great composers here on BC; none of that modern music nonsense in pop industry ( I mentioned then removed someone' s name, probably best to). Well done everyone.....and watch out for Mornats and dad.😁
  8. Well done @Mornats great master piece there. and Thanks every one voting for my late entry too.😊
  9. Of course he will say that but the statement is subjective. Did The Who peaked in 1971 and is rock music a general term for other music genres where the guitars, bass and drums are the staple instruments? Now me being biased. How about Iron Maiden ( new wave of British heavy metal). They peaked in 1984-1985 during the World Slavery Tour. Still going strong 34 years later with sold out venues. I don't think we can say when rock music generally peaked. Bands yes. There since have been different genres of rock music.
  10. Any bass sounds good on ...And Justice For All as the original bass played Jason Newsted was turned down to inaudible levels.

  23. I'm currently working on two guitar projects. One had its polyurethane removed and sprayed over the other sprayed onto polyurethane. I believe that it's all psychological. BUT I read somewhere as mentioned above that nitrocellulose finish sounds different to polyurethane finish. Whether it sounds better is a personal preference. I think it's important to visually like your instruments but a minor aesthetics change may have a minor impact on the sound.
  24. Ibanez, could have been a Roadster. It weighed a ton and the beck was like a baseball bat.
