Rotos all day long for me. Flats on p bass, round on jazz bass.

I bought pick ups from Irongear for my project. I haven't tested them yet but I will let you know when I do.

The Swedish guy on You Tube plays it dry and clean first then applies plug ins. I find it odd. I recorded two bass lines for two different songs. The same vst settings but one song was with a j bass the other song with a p bass. They both sit nicely in the mix.

Nothing wrong buying online. I set it up to my likings. However, I recently purchased a guitar from one of the big boys shops and after 5 mins of setting it up I put it back in box and called then back asking for a replacement but eventually went for a refund. I'm not going to name them as they dealt with the matter professionally. This won't stop me from buyibg online.

I've always fancied big stage amps and cabs but never owned one. Well apart from a BW Peavey combo weighing a ton. I recently bought Amplitube4 and I am very impressed with it. The only downside is that to get full advantage of it you need to buy add ons from tgeir Custom shop. I am now thinking of getting Ampeg SVX plug in for my bass. I've seen good reviews on You Tube but would like some basschatters reviews uf anyone uses one. It would be used for home recording.

I've done lots of research on potentiometers but it seems it's horses for courses. Therefore I'm asking you reliable basschaters for advise. I want to wire up HSS configuration for my electric guitar project. The humbucker needs a push pull volume. So basically I'm after either one volume one tone or one volume two pots. The question is. Do I need a linear or log pot.I've been advised that volume pot needs to be 500kohm and tone pit 250kohm.Any suggestions?

Not sure about red tortoise pickguard on surf green.Looks like Jimmy Hendrix had one.

Can't decide on colour. Thinking surf green with pearl white pickguard or white with pearl white pickguard. Marbeling painting might be harder than it looks. Any suggestions on colour?

Have you reported it? I would start searching e bay, gumtree, schpock and local pawn shops.

I filled the missing bit with a thin layer of Gorilla glue, so no major damage done. Thanks for advice

New pick ups arrived from Iron Gear.

I started sanding the top guitar surface. It appears it is polyurethane. So I got the heat gun out and removed a small part but noticed there is some more plastic like underneath.The guitar body is apparently, according to internet search, made of basswood, but the body material seems to be something else. Could it be made of some hard plastic? This might make it difficult when it comes to routing the body to fit the floyd rose. I have sanded of the guitar logo and sanded off the neck thickness. The neck felt comfortable as it was so I only gave a little sanding.

Hi B-chatters, This is my first, hopefully thorough guitar rebuild. I have attempted one decades ago, which turned out decent ish. This time, I decided to re build my electric guitar, namely Cruzer ST-220/3TS Sunburst. I`ve had this guitar for about 5 years from new but I thought I `ll give it a complete make over. I`m not a fan of sunburst...... The plan is to insert a floating tremolo with lock nut, and new hardware. Also set of new pick ups with similar characteristics to dimarzio super distortion and samarium noiseless. All hardware will be black including pick ups.Initially, I wanted the guitar white but I`m thinking of marbleling painting method. Have yet to decide on the colour. White/blue with black hardware would look nice. BTW, any suggestions on new colour are welcome.

Age is only a number. Some people get married and have kids after they turned 40. I got back to bass playing when I was nearly 40 and now that I'm 40 I take on new hobbies. Enjoy and don't start buying too many basses too soon.😊
