I just picked up a Fender Rumble 100 watt combo from the forum. Light as a feather, sounds great at low volume and will go plenty loud as well. Mine was £200 with a quality cover. Used it the other night at an acoustic jam and it was bang on. Try one - I don't think you'd regret it.
+1

Download Toneprint app select bass then select product i.e. tc spectracomp. Then choose an artist by clicking on it and put your android phone or pad etc near the pick up and done. You can then re set to factory settings or choose another artist from the app.

I own Fender Steve Harris. Pretty heavy.Never weighed it but who cares, I'm physically strong. It not only looks big but sounds big.
Not sure you can get the exact sound of a P bass, but you can get close (imo). Roll off the rear pickup volume all the way, front pickup on full and pluck over the front pickup. Take the tone off about 3/4 of the way. It will still "bark" like a Jazz, but only slightly.
Old post but this seems to work.

I create drums using Ableton live. It's time consuming. I downloaded the free version of I think EZ drummer Has some basic loops.
I doubt it's an air fed mask though, the standard filter type are no good for two pack. It needs to be a full face positive feed type, theybarent cheap but are completely essential. I understand it can also be absorbed through the skin so needs full coverage. To be honest it's best just to avoid it, there are good alternatives that are far safer.
What alternatives woukd you suggest?

Thanks. I've used up a fair few of cans but invested in a mask. It's brilliant , can't smell a thing when painting.

Hi chatrers, Does anyone own a spray gun and a compressor or has exprerience using one and recommended one. I've been can spray painting a guitar project and it costs an arm and a leg. Surely a quality spray gun is more expensive but in long term it pays off. I've got a few projects lined up.

Has anyone had their Public Liability Insurance tested/claimed against ?
Depends on the injury. How far would YOU go if because of someone else your wrist was broken and you couldn't work for 2 months? Could you still pay your rent or mortgage if you only got Stat Sick pay for 2 months? PLI is dirt cheap because the risk is low. Or join the MU - then if a landlord refuses to pay you, they'll get the money out of them. You get the use of their lawyers included in the membership fee.
I get what you're saying. Everytime i see i pub band, it's the drunkest of the crowd in the bands face dancing and junping with a pint glass in their hands. This alone is a health and safety hazard alone to band members. The list is not exhaustive. Surely it's up to the insurer to investigate the genuity and liability of the claim. -
Because you are a separate entity to the landlord. In other words if a customer is hurt they are going to blame you in any way they can so they don't have to claim on their insurance. And even if it is just a trip that for example causes a broken wrist - you are going to be paying out a good £10,000 for injury, loss of earnings, any private treatment expenses and the legal fees. If you haven'g got insurance you'll also be paying your own lawyer to make sure the claim was a valid one in the first place. Trips, electrocutions with your gear, singer throwing something into the crowd, PA stack falling on someone etc etc. None of that is the landlords fault - and even if it was - he will try to shift the blame to you.
Understand but what length do claimants go to. Looks like a pub band is mostly for fun but all the cost us it worth it financially? -
They would if you were employed as the house band and on their books, if a builder working at your house damaged your neighbours fence would you be happy to claim on your own insurance or would you want the builder to sort it out directly? It's no different.
I get this. -

I am aware that in this day and age people like suing and making claims but why on earth would you need a PLI? Isn't that what the landlord should cover along other licensing regulations? I understand the tripping hazards etc etc. -

Why bother with an EQ on your bass - there's a better one on your amp!
SH73 replied to thepurpleblob's topic in Bass Guitars
Of course. All that is fine if you want to sound like "yourself". But if you have to try to sound like a number of different players/bands/styles, then EQ can be your saviour (IMO).
Agreed.I watched a cover band and both bass and guutar players were stepping on their pedal boards. Often between the songs. -

My volume on p bass is on the max so is the tone. I seldom use the tone pot. Amp settings are set to a mid range. No idea which eq means what. I move/ turn buttons until it sounds good to me. Steve Harris has his tone on bass bypassed. Eddie Van Halen hasn't got a tone pot on his stripe guitar. -
