1. Sounds great! Ill await the pics
2.
Players like Nathan Watts have been in the game long enough to realise that although good gear matters, it's whatever needs the least maintenance on the road and what sounds adequate to get along with! People with his level of credibility don't need to deal with guys on online forums claiming to be experts on drivers, whereas given half the chance all those 'speaker experts' would probably jump at the chance to be Stevie Wonder's bass player and MD.
+1.
3.
I loved it,despite the odd 'moment'. Nate appeared to be using a couple of Hartke LH amps, with Hartke Hydrive 1x15 and 4x10 cabs. He played keys on a few including Superstition (which had Stevie on keys on the original.)
I wonder whether Nate cares about the 'dont mix drivers' the speaker gurus talk about. I doubt it...probably because if it sounds good it sounds good.
4. I replied just to get info with no reply anyway!
5. I bet the have something planned....lets hope its a good 'un.
6. Pics please...very interested.
7.
Hi i've got two GS112 for sale both in excellent condition. Pics will be put on tonight! £450 for the pair!! Both have Tweeters aswell!!
Jim, do they have covers by any chance?
8. Anyone heard any thing on this yet?
9. What rig is Nate using? GW in the other thread said the bass is a Sadowsky.
10.
It's great but the mix is terrible. No bass whatsoever.
On superstition it appears Nate took his bass off to play keys! It was really noticeable.
11. He's a big chap but sooo many good songs!!!
12. I think it's pretty good, but I've not seen much of him before.
13.
Nathan Watts - Allevo Copollo?
Is it an F bass or whatever they are called? I saw the sillouette of a Bongo 5 headstock when the camera went behind him...I think.
14. I would definitely test before doing it. The NY122 has a high sensitivity and is £727...and you only need one. I'd be tempted to stick with what you've got.
15. You've got a modular 4x10, which is pretty loud. No 1x12 will match it, but a 2x12 setup might get close. Have you seen the MB NY122? Light, compact, and on paper appears to be very very loud.
16. Does anyone have any information on the large bodied hollow bass guitars that are around? Nothing as expensive as that amazing Gretsch for sale in the forum, but similar? This is the 'style' im after, but not as expensive - http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/index.p...amp;q=&st=1 I dont know what the market is like on these. Are they pretty much all under normal scale size? Im really craving that deep thumpy sound these bad boys make, along with the fact they look stunning. Cheers

18.
One Orange + One Vintage! One day Mr Foxen I will learn what all this "doom" is about
THIS is almost DOOM, although verges on just super heavy rock n roll - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tb0xkgE97b8...feature=related Sorry OT!
19.
I normally hate muse, but i think they were great live. And the scissor sisters, brilliant, especially with the Kylie Minogue.
Scissor Sisters always come across extremely pro. Kate Nash was plain awful.
20. That is one HEAVY cab, I agree, but it does sound HUGE. I cant imagine wanting to move it around in this heat hahah!
21. The Bass Terror is damn loud. If you like your tone quite dirty its even louder because of the gain. I very much imagine it will sound huge through that cabinet.
22.
Anyone who thinks that is the work of a 3 piece ..well, words fail me. Still, lots of bands fly in stuff so no real big deal there anyway. Two years ago, I'd say they would have been the premier festival act...now it just doesn't work as well. They have loads of hits and anthems to parade but not sure they are still a worthwhile act in that sense on the basis of these performances. Drum sounds was awful, to my ears but I would imagine it is really hard the get their touring show up and running for a quick one-off festival rig so not that worried about the mixes as such as they must be a pig to do and needs loads of time. Swapping out so many basses..well, lets not go there...just another thing to bash them with, I'd say. If your basic sound is cluttered or changed so much..what is with so many swaps..? So..does nothing at all for me..
I have to agree with you there. Ive seen them live at Leeds Festival before and they seemed to have a hell of a lot more raw energy than they did last night. Certainly not the gig I was expecting. I quite like Muse, but there use of tons of effects live starts to get on my nerves after a while. Impressive noise for a 3 piece mind. Sorry, I have to say I personally think the move to Status is a bad one. They sounded tinny and hifi, not what Muse is about. But the TV sound obviously wasnt what it was like live. He is quite a good bass player, but jees they need to get a little more excited and interact with EACH OTHER. It just felt like I was watching someone do their day job with very little spark.
23.
the guy in The Cribs also had a vintagey looked s/b PBass - altho no great definition, guitars too loud - or just the mix sounding crap on the tv?
I saw the highlights for The Cribs and he seemed to have a nice vintage P bass....mmmm. Scissor Sisters bass player was using an Aguilar rig...nice to see something that isn't Ampeg. Dead Weathers bass was awesome. I'm guessing they are super expensive?! The Status sound definitely doesn't suit Muse; way too hifi!
24.
Cool, thank you. I also heard that the keyboards were doing some strange things. Not a new band as such. It's a U2 tribute band that I dep for when the bass player can't make it. I kind of got recommended as I know all the U2 stuff. Not really my cup of tea playing covers as I find it really hard to draw any emotion from and a bit like painting by numbers. Not a negative comment towards those who do covers but my 23 years of bass playing has always been originals so it feels a little weird playing covers However, a great bunch of musicians and they always go down really well. Encores every time and always people up dancing so still good fun and bonus that you get paid for it Guitarist is also going to play for my originals project.
Sounds great!
