  1. Quite strong here...I have been eyeing up this before my original post. But then the Fender Player Ocean turquoise is a real looker. Can’t go wrong with a Nate Mendal. Then there was the strong past love for the Limelight.....but will I go through life never having experienced the glory of a G&L - I’m in a GAS pickle you see 😂
  2. Cheers mate, I'm liking it...liking it a lot...going to sleep on it...if i make it that far
  3. Tell me more, this is the 'wild card' bass and I'm sorely tempted....although know I'd lose out if I ended up selling on one day.
  4. Yes, this is my preference. I've had a Nate 5yrs ago and it was a great piece of kit. ironically sold when i got my Limelight P.
  5. Yes i'm intrigued by the LB100, just a little concerned about the weight.
  6. Do you have one? Are they heavy?
  7. Got a case of the P GAS - missing having one in my arsenal, currently have around £600...may be able to stretch to £700 at a push, happy to go much cheaper too. Lighter the better but it'll mainly be for recording duties. Must be a P, not P/J. Options I'm liking so far, and in no particular order: Bass Collection Bruce Thomas Bass or maybe one their other P's...don't know a lot about them, any owners out there? The G&L L100's at Andertons...don't know about these either but never owned a G&L. I'd love a Fender Nate Mendel again if one came up. Hang out for a battered USA P...hard work. Would love a Limelight again...miss an old one I used to own. Sandberg P's ? Anything else? I'd be buying blind due to lockdown...is this just a case of irrational GAS? I am also hopeless at saving for something bigger a possibly better i.e AV’s etc
  8. SOLD - Due to not getting used in the last 12 months I am parting with my favourite cab ever, too good just to be sat in the cupboard. This cab was my second NEOX2 - i missed my first so much i got another, brilliant understated lightweight cabs! Preferred over some of the bigger named 2x12's out there. Stupidly selling this one as i now have 2 x Hartke 12" cabs and whilst the Genz is superior in sound it's unlikely to get a look in realistically, plus I prefer the flexibility of being able to take one cab out, which to be fair most of my gigs have been quiet acoustic types over the last 12 months. Bought from another Basschatter and I've sadly never gigged it once apart from a 2 low volume home practices. Comes with Roqsolid cover, has castor wheels for easy portability. Blurb off t'interweb: NX NX2 MRRP £839 •600 watt, 4Ω •2 x 12" + tweeter •42hz - 18khz •sensitivity 101db 1w/m •47lb/23kg •1" x 21 1/4 " x 16 1/2"/ 78.8cm x 54cm x 42cm
  9. Welcome to the club mate, that looks a real beauty. So much more versatile than previous Ray’s IMO. Enjoy 😊
  10. Always had a soft spot for Nucleus Roots.....especially when they rocked up at a 1990's Free Exodus festival (Jah Shaka sound system too).....I remember being off my boobs on a bad aspirin and my mind blown by this track and wondering if the bass player was using FX on this track live.
  11. Feeling a bit of this today, Happy Friday 😊
  12. I think my Special is around my 10th Stingray I’ve ever owned to date. It is by far the best and sits great in the mix. Love it!
  13. Big, big, sound system tune! ..had great fun playing this live 😎 Happy Saturday 😊
  14. Awesomeness. Is that the 18” cab?
  15. I must admit I’m intrigued with big Ashdowns like the ABM’s. I’ve seen a few come up fairly cheap and feel the GAS building. I had a Retroglide briefly which was nice but it didn’t excite me so that one went. However a Ashdown Blueline 12” combo was my favourite amp to record with many moons ago, lovely DI sounds. i also quite fancy a Markbass Traveller 15” again, loved the lightness and the tone was great - not too wooly but phat with definition and one was perfect for the smaller gigs 😊
  16. Yeah I forgot the Streamliner, that was a nice warm amp and 900W for the dub 😊
  17. Gosh this thread from the dead has just made me realise how much B/C is part of my everyday life, and how old I am now 😂 In regards to your question, and having tried a billion amps since 2010 I’d still go with Markbass for the reggae. LMT is a favourite but quite happy with my current LM800. I was also very fond of the Eden amps for reggae like the WT800. Speakers, Barefaced Dubster, Markbass 15”, the Ampeg SVT410HLF is a beast and prefer over the 8x10 but still weighs as much as a gastric band failure. Currently got 2x Hartke Hydrive 12” separate cabs at the moment but yet to gig them.
  18. Ah my dumb, just seen it was from the USA 😳
  19. Really? I find that hard to believe with the inclusion of the Nordstrand pickups and an Audre pre upgraded, bit of a bargain for what are great players basses 👍🏼
  20. ‘Truth & Rights’ - great riddim 😊 Here’s a mess around me and my reggae friends did on the Minstrels riddim back in 2010 not the best but our good mate had fun with his camera, plus the venue is the drummers own practice place we’ve used since 2007 - every jam feels like a gig 😂
  21. The King & Queen of sound....it must be STUDIO ONE! Happy Friday 😎
