  1. Another band i played with nicked the vocal part from this version of Take 5 by the North East Ska Jazz Orchestra - great to see them with Wicked Dub Division (who incidentally is getting a lot of play on my Spotify).
  2. Well....just when we thought this thread was dead. Still totally loving the Profile bass to bits, in fact it's bloody brilliant and it's going nowhere (anytime soon anyhow 😂), ...and you know there's a big 'but' coming...well, a bit of penny saving and I've just pushed the pay button one of these - it really was between this or the Profile...funk it i'll have both: £570 from kytary.co.uk - I need a maple, i don't do black, er um! One P for flats and one rounds perhaps....Right the wait begins
  3. Elf, Gnome...lets await the Ampeg Pixie 😂 Edit..just seen I'm slow off the mark again and this joke has already done the rounds ages ago in another thread.
  4. Sold Jimmy a Compressor pedal - top chap, quick payment - no hassles here. Deal in confidence. 😊
  5. Should have added I may entertain trades, I also have about £200 if trading up 😊....nothing particularly in mind so try me W.H.Y ?
  6. Sale fell through with this the other day so have decided to put it for sale here since it is boxed up ready to go. I hadn't really planned to sell it until responding to a thread but now that it is boxed I may as well move it on but if it doesn't sell i'll unwrap and it'll feel just like a new bass again. So Bass Collection SB310, it's active, plays superb, low action and weighs only 7.8lbs. Excellent low B on this one, Gotoh bridge, strap locks, brass nut, and Gotoh tuners. It' been well gigged (because it's a good un') so mojo to show but nothing tragic. When i bought the bass sometime back it came with 4 string sized SGC pickups - i was informed this was standard, however having since done some research i do not think this is so - i could be wrong though, just seems a little odd when there was 5 string size routes. I have since upgraded the pickups anyway with a standard 5 size Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder in the Neck and a Wilkinson Alnico in the bridge, they work really well together and are a vast improvement over the SGC's. For full disclosure it looks as though it's been routed to accommodate the 4 string pick up ears - the positive of this is you can fit either pickups and it looks fine. Also both pickups currently fitted are both 'bridge sizing'. The original 4 string SGC pickups are also included in the sale along with the lightweight gig case. My wife was a bit quick off the mark on packing this whilst i was at work, because of this i was unable to remove the Gong sticker in time, it should come off easily enough - i think there is a 'Lion of Judah' sticker on the rear too...can't remember to be honest. Fortunately i had taken some pictures before wifey packed otherwise it would be pics of a box only 🤣 ...and last but not least, a lot of bass for little money but you knew that already.....especially with the pickups!
  7. I’ve generally got my eyes closed...and the band always seem to be out of tune with me 😂 Anyhow, my kids say orange, I’d say like a salmons inners colour!
  8. Nice, which Sandberg did you get? The amp setup is a simple Hartke rig with the HX 112 cab and the notorious Hartke TX600...the amp gets a lot of bad reviews for being under powered but i haven't really found this to be the case - it's very gig worthy.....i really like it's core tone and Compressor.
  9. PM'd
  10. Thinking of selling mine actually 😉
  11. I used to find Mahavishnu Orchestra or Return to Forever got rid of all but the musician types, especially when I had a lodger who was a techno DJ 😂
  12. Better pics added 😊. My apologies for the previous, hadn’t noticed until it was pointed out 😂
  13. Love this version too, really dig Ernest Ranglin.
  14. One of my favourite bass lines 😊
  15. The picture looks like an optical illusion, both necks are 2ft from heel to nut 😊
  16. Couldn’t resist.... ( @stewblack thanks for the inspiration)
  17. They're rather good aren't they
  18. Well the wild card was most definitely the dogs dingly dangley doodahs! From GAS to reality. A little bit heavier than i would have liked, 8.8lbs on my scale but it's doable. Quality wise, i'd say on par with Laklands i have owned, frets and finish are superb - my kids are convinced it is orange in colour - it's really different and i like it lot. No dead spots, low action out of the box although i think it will go lower. assume these get a setup too as it was still in tune and the intonation is spot on. Sound wise, really good - a lot of owners speak of the pickups being quite hot so i was expecting 'Quarter pounder' ish territory but it retains a great vintage tone that is most welcome - excellent range with the tone control giving me 4 distinguishable tones of the typical bright P, top end off a little but upper mids present, to motown before full wound then phat dub all the way! I'm pleased i took the gamble. Thank you for the help B/Cer's
  19. SOLD Excellent compressor but now surplus to needs. Few cosmetic paint chips to the side and no rubber feet as this was on my board historically. Otherwise a brilliant compressor for the money. £70 posted or £65 collected.
  20. Hi, seems that my text had disappeared from the original post. It’s a unused Gear for music neck and a used older Tanglewood neck, main post now updated. Thanks for pointing this out 😊
  21. Body 1 now sold. SX neck is £60. The listing has been some weird voodoo flipery on me so my apologies if the prices aren’t clear - do let me know if you require further info - thanks 😊
