  1. I get you, I'm a social worker...'Brothers in Arms'
  2. I'm sure this sadly is the case with some of the bigger organsiations, however in my County i have witnessed countless day centers, residential and specialist provision closing due to it not being economically viable to continue to operate as a functional business anymore. One of the big issues I witness is that many staff are now moving to agency providers that severely injures the NHS & Social Care budgets thus making it impossible to fund such provisions adequately. In my experience a lot of the business owners in this area of work tend come from more of a altruistic perspective, but I'm sure not all, although I'm mildly confident they're not purposely screwing over their staff. Sadly I think the big player has been austerity/politics that has hugely crippled these businesses, particularly being unable to pay staff what they deserve. Paradoxically my county is in a position where there is a little bit more money in the pot but no actual staff to recruit......accept the occasional expensive agency.
  3. I'm a typical burned out registered 'Social Worker'.....now a Deputy Manager in a NHS Community Mental Health Team...essentially stuck between a rock and a hard place daily.
  4. Thank you kindly for this review. I am still keen to try one but certainly less inclined to buy one. Really glad i recently pulled the trigger on a lightweight Sandberg i bought off here...have to say I'm totally smitten with the Sandberg, top quality, and at second hand prices it was half the price of the Ibanez headless I had my eyes on. I also would also worry about the depreciation on these Ibanez basses.
  5. Stratus, Billy Cobham...used to also do the same riff for a Massive Attack cover in another band. I love both tunes dearly but I do question if I have some kind of attention deficit when doing these type of tunes as the OP suggests. This theory was further tested when momentarily nodding off in the middle of playing Aswads ‘Good Thing Going’...waking after about 2 seconds shuteye was like a moment out of Quantum Leap...suddenly I had this bass guitar in my hands and a dancing crowd in front of me, WTF! ...and I had 2-3 Espresso Martini’s before the gig. Thus proving a stimulant cancellation in a self diagnosed attention deficit...I should have become a Psychiatrist I think ....what were we talking about again ???🤣

If money is (somewhat) not a factor, check out Elrick basses. Obviously the custom stuff is pretty expensive, but the Standard (Czech built) models can be picked up well-priced and they are very light for what they are generally. Usually around 8 - 8.5lbs
