I'll await and embrace the ridicule ...it sort of started off like a tattoo addiction.

Many will know I bought one of these recently and I have to say I think it’s absolutely bleddy brilliant, super comfortable bass. A lot of bass for this kind of money, you really can’t go wrong. Must admit to some temptation on this as my current one is maple, and a twin rosewood would be welcomed. However I’d probably be in the divorce courts pretty quickly if I made such an unwise decision to mix those joint accounts around a bit. Clearly anyone else looking at this, with the readies, will be making a very wise decision to buy it up quick. GLWTS.

UPDATE! Bax Music - anyone have any good experience with them?
Raslee replied to Carl G's topic in General Discussion
I've been told in the last few days they have received my item but it needs to be registered with the returns dept 😳.....I've since emailed again but still not a lot of comms coming back. It's a shame as i was planning on buying another item from them but am eagerly awaiting to see how my issue pans out before another purchase. I've generally had good experiences with Bax historically and wonder if they are currently under staffed or otherwise struggling as a result of the pandemic. -
Fantastic on the functions band scene down here, lots of weddings, functions at the tourists sites (be prepared to play cheesy shite though), and a few great festivals to boot.....whats not to like

I’m in this same boat awaiting an amp return refund...I’ve heard diddly squat since the return. -
I confess to having become a recent Sandberg convert. However, I also own a 7.8lb Stingray Special (Aqua sparkle) - have you tried the Stingray Special? Absolutely brilliant, more versatile than its predecessors and super light too.
-
Think I’m finally getting this Sandberg thang...it’s a cheapy at £577 (cheap in the context of your usual Sandberg) Sandberg Electra VS4...my word it’s bloody amazing, I’d take this over a USA P any day. Superb quality.
-
I'll give it a few days as the Sandberg is in it's honeymoon period...but my first impressions were more astounded with the Sandberg than the Profile, that said though the Profile really is a fantastic bass.

Cheers mate, Yeah i like it, i kinda went off black basses and was going to get the cream version but the maple & black combo is a killer look and glad i went for this now. Soundwise it's as expected being quite different to the passive Bruce Thomas Profile bass - being active it's quite versatile and modern i would say - very rich and full, nice reggae with the bass turned right up and treble off. Bass down and treble up gives that really bright clanky punk sound - perhaps a little too hissy in the highs. Quality is astounding, wonderful neck and a quick tweak of the truss rod has given me a really good low action. Wit the bass a 2 o'clock and treble at 10 gives a nice warm vibe which i'm liking at the mo for a bit of funk jamming. It's light too which is a bonus., for £577 it's a real bargain. It really is chalk and cheese with the Profile bass...which is a good thing for me.

Wowsers x a lot! It’s rather amazing and only 8.2lb...chicken dinner!

Absolutely, my 5 string Classic Booster Custom is impeccable and by far the best 5 I’ve ever owned - it plays itself. I can see me getting a Sandberg jazz further down the line 😂
-
This was my favourite Take 5 , love this band:
-
Another band i played with nicked the vocal part from this version of Take 5 by the North East Ska Jazz Orchestra - great to see them with Wicked Dub Division (who incidentally is getting a lot of play on my Spotify).

Well....just when we thought this thread was dead. Still totally loving the Profile bass to bits, in fact it's bloody brilliant and it's going nowhere (anytime soon anyhow 😂), ...and you know there's a big 'but' coming...well, a bit of penny saving and I've just pushed the pay button one of these - it really was between this or the Profile...funk it i'll have both: £570 from kytary.co.uk - I need a maple, i don't do black, er um! One P for flats and one rounds perhaps....Right the wait begins

Trace Elliott ELF vs TC Electronic BAM200 opinions?
Raslee replied to Dennis1971's topic in Amps and Cabs
Elf, Gnome...lets await the Ampeg Pixie 😂 Edit..just seen I'm slow off the mark again and this joke has already done the rounds ages ago in another thread. -
Sold Jimmy a Compressor pedal - top chap, quick payment - no hassles here. Deal in confidence. 😊

Sale fell through with this the other day so have decided to put it for sale here since it is boxed up ready to go. I hadn't really planned to sell it until responding to a thread but now that it is boxed I may as well move it on but if it doesn't sell i'll unwrap and it'll feel just like a new bass again. So Bass Collection SB310, it's active, plays superb, low action and weighs only 7.8lbs. Excellent low B on this one, Gotoh bridge, strap locks, brass nut, and Gotoh tuners. It' been well gigged (because it's a good un') so mojo to show but nothing tragic. When i bought the bass sometime back it came with 4 string sized SGC pickups - i was informed this was standard, however having since done some research i do not think this is so - i could be wrong though, just seems a little odd when there was 5 string size routes. I have since upgraded the pickups anyway with a standard 5 size Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder in the Neck and a Wilkinson Alnico in the bridge, they work really well together and are a vast improvement over the SGC's. For full disclosure it looks as though it's been routed to accommodate the 4 string pick up ears - the positive of this is you can fit either pickups and it looks fine. Also both pickups currently fitted are both 'bridge sizing'. The original 4 string SGC pickups are also included in the sale along with the lightweight gig case. My wife was a bit quick off the mark on packing this whilst i was at work, because of this i was unable to remove the Gong sticker in time, it should come off easily enough - i think there is a 'Lion of Judah' sticker on the rear too...can't remember to be honest. Fortunately i had taken some pictures before wifey packed otherwise it would be pics of a box only 🤣 ...and last but not least, a lot of bass for little money but you knew that already.....especially with the pickups!

I’ve generally got my eyes closed...and the band always seem to be out of tune with me 😂 Anyhow, my kids say orange, I’d say like a salmons inners colour!

Nice, which Sandberg did you get? The amp setup is a simple Hartke rig with the HX 112 cab and the notorious Hartke TX600...the amp gets a lot of bad reviews for being under powered but i haven't really found this to be the case - it's very gig worthy.....i really like it's core tone and Compressor.

Thinking of selling mine actually 😉

I used to find Mahavishnu Orchestra or Return to Forever got rid of all but the musician types, especially when I had a lodger who was a techno DJ 😂 -
