  1. This might sound very obvious, but are your playback and record sample rates the same? Also, I used to have the same Terratec sound card, which was really good, but I first had a wonky one which played absolute havoc with my whole system. Took me weeks to figure that out. It’s quite an old card now, maybe Windows just won’t support it any more.
  2. I’ve got a BBG4AII. I’m not sure how it differs from this model, but it’s a great bass indeed. This one here is a bargain.
  3. That’s some lovely Ibanez shizz right there.
  4. Check YouTube for Michael Pipoquinha playing Liberty City with an accordion player. Lovely.
  5. Tacoma guitars and basses are very fine instruments. I have two six string guitars and they are great. This Thunderchief will be no exception.
  6. I owe so much to Steely Dan. Thanks for reminding me with a great track.
  7. I have to say I don’t really care for black hardware, especially on a Ray type thing.
  8. TCE Nova Dynamics, Seymour Duncan Doubleback, various comps in the Zoom B3n.
  9. Fabulous top line looper, you can’t go wrong with one of these.
  10. If you want to play samples other than your own playing, you need a looper that you can connect to a computer, so you can add audio files that you have already recorded. OR, you can play the relevant instrument into the looper, and save your work at the appropriate tempo. http://looperpedalreviews.com/ is a great place to read about loopers. I use a Boss RC-300, which is initially complex to understand, but I think is the daddy of loopers for ease of use live. There are tons of YouTube videos on looping, with some amazingly talented people.
  11. What settings sound best? Cottons or woollens, 30 deg or 40 deg?
  12. Blimey, you’re right, I didn’t check new prices.
  13. There’s a couple of Jam Man Stereoes on eBay right now. You could have squint at Looper Pedal Reviews, a very good site which helped me decide on my Boss RC-300. The Jam Man Stereo was my second choice.
  14. No fiddle or banjo here, but I used to have a mandolin. Sadly the neck came off.
  15. Jinkies, it’s enormous. You could get the Toyota Aygo in one of the pockets.
  16. Last two times I saw SD Freddie was playing a sunburst Jazz V. Looked great, couldn’t hear a fecking thing.
  17. Blimey, you’re right, zero fret. Very interesting. Mick is right about being spoiled for choice right now. None of my basses are expensive.
  18. Wowser! Finally, somebody actually heard the bass, if ya really don’t know who Freddie is, check YouTube for Patrice Rushen’s Forget Me Nots. The bass part is absolutely fabulous.
