  1. Al, that’s my BG250, sitting on my patio! Where’d you find that pic?
  2. In 1983, my first bass rig was a Yamaha B100-115 combo, and a Yamaha BB1000. Switched to a Lane Linebacker head and cab, for some reason. Probably the fact that it had more knobs and mini switches. And a compressor.
  3. The EQ centres are at different frequencies on the Marcus Miller amps. I don’t remember which ones. The regular Little Mark centres are at 40hz, 360hz, 800hz, and 10Khz, I believe.
  4. The dome shape will not conform to the body outline, whatever shape you make the body (unless it’s circular).
  5. At least it’s got a tort guard, so that’s something I s’pose.
  6. PS, may I ask who made the body for you?
  7. Nice. I love the close placement of the pickups. I would also say keep it blonde, per Fleabag, and enough with the black hardware already. You could always go with those wee washer things, and scrub the neck plate. That could look nice. Whatever you do, the force is strong with this one!
  8. I think a white plate would be very very lovely. A bit Larry Graham.
  9. Great work. Nice splines.
  10. Yes, the bass amp becomes just your power amp, and the pedals are the preamp toneshapers.
  11. It’s a rare and expensive feature to do with hidden chambering of the body. Not many people know that.
  12. A wise man! Sadly I fried my Bad Monkey by putting the wrong kind of juice into it. If I was still into guitar I would get another one. In fact, I want to be in a band called the Bad Monkeys. How cool would that be?
  13. I used one of these when I was playing guitar. I clipped the C4 capacitor, which removed most of the Tube Screamer type nasal qualities. Sounded great!
  14. Couldn’t agree more. Great pedal. Buy with confidence.
  15. And and and you can open up a Markbass and fiddle with the send return config. Sounds exactly the same to me.
  16. Wow, nice basses. I wish I could get on with a five string.
  17. Wow, great work!
  18. Plus one for Riffstation. And, yes, it’s free now.
  19. Looking at the pictures of the back, I surmise that the crazing is actually in the film itself.
  20. Good example of photo flame there. A word of warning, if you decide to go for a refinish: the flame is printed on a layer of film, which can crack and flake. I’m pretty sure a heat gun would melt it.
  21. I dig him. Check his playing on Theo Katzman’s version of Just The Way You Are.
