  1. NOW £115. Plus, I'm after a Fender-fit fretless neck (Pref Jazz dimensions, and lined - but WHYG?). Or possibly a Fretless bass, with cash added for the right one. These are Cracking little micro bass amps, and are now discontinued, sadly. Can be powered by mains, or 6 x AA's - so you can get spare batteries anywhere. This one is in great condition. Great as a small practice amp around the house - it even has a headphone socket. Also good for busking too, which I've done a few times. It has a carry handle attached. What's really nice about these, is they have 8x sound presets, bass, middle & treble EQ, plus gain. But the effects feature really nice chorus, flanger & reverb. Even better, there's a built in drum / rhythm machine with 11 preset styles. I'd much prefer not to post, if possible - so collection from Cardiff preferred, or could possibly meet, if I happen to be on my travels. No trades thanks - the clear out continues....
  2. I had a Squier PJ made in Indonesia- it was superbly built, and sounded great. Fab value for money. This is a great price, and Burns Bass is a top fella to deal with. GLWTS Lawrie 😀
  3. Saw the Rezillos and The Undertones last night. Both bands were great, the Undertones particularly so 😀
  4. Wow. That's a stunning bass Paul. Great price for someone too, especially given its condition. The JV I owned was heavier than that too - great weight for one of these. GLWTS
  5. I am in several bands, and always talking music with all of them. I also chat about music with lots of mates who aren't musicians. Always talking music with Mrs S about music too. Often going to gigs with non musician friends. Basically talking music most of the time! And never pass up the chance to talk more music - it's such a huge part of my life... just wish I was better at it 😀
  6. Phew! Glad to hear you got your money back. If you can be patient for long enough, I'm sure a roadworn will come along at some point. In all honesty, I would wait for one - they are amazing basses. So well made, such top quality, great sounding with lovely feeling necks. My current fave P bass is a Mex "classic series" Precision. It's poly finish, not nitro, but these were made alongside the RW series, I believe.
  7. Definitely not one of the official Fender Roadworn series - the finish wear on the genuine RW's is very smooth. The genuine models are absolutely superbly made, and sound great. Sorry to hear you were sold something that isn't what it was supposed to be. Hope the guy refunds you.
  8. Hi @godathunder, I'm down the road a bit from the Rhondda - not too far away. Thanks for the offer - it would be interesting to see the bass

  10. Just zoomed in on one of the photos a bit closer. It appears from the wire in the middle of the body that it's hollow - just wondering if that's correct? @godathunder? I'd be interested to know what the bass sounds like, as a chambered body would have an effect on the sound. Following this with interest, as I'd like to see this restored EDIT: If it is indeed hollow, it seems a shame not to incorporate some F-holes in the body
  11. Sorry to be late to the party, but wow - that looks unusual. I didn't know Shergold made an upright. You might want to consider getting an adjustable bridge - as this will allow you to "tweak" the string height yourself. I recall a few years back, when as a beginner myself, the second upright I bought had an adjustable bridge, and for me at the time it was a real boon. It meant I could get the string height I was more comfortable with really easily. Good luck with this project. Nice to have a bass with a family link
  12. Phew! Glad this is on hold - at £330 it's an absolute steal
  13. Doh - just bought one of these a couple of weeks back. Indeed, it's great for doubling up with upright and Bass Guitar. If only I had waited a couple of weeks more.... sigh GLWTS
  14. I hope it's OK to post this here, as well as the Effects for sale section? Please remove if not.... I thought I'd post it here as well, because this preamp is pretty useful for upright too - several BC members have posted that they regularly use one, particularly when needing to double-up on upright plus BG. You can EQ the 2 channels quite differently to suit the sound of both instruments...... I bought this just a few months back on here, and it's great, and works really well, giving you 2 channels which a re separately controlled, along with other features. - However, I have since acquired a Stanley Clarke acoustic 2 channel preamp, which suits my needs even more. So this one is for sale. good used condition, with no velcro on the back, and with box. Not looking to make a profit - I'm selling for what I paid for it (minus maybe a fiver?). Collection from Cardiff is great - but I can post too - which would probably work out between £5 - £10 insured (I'd much prefer to insure). Photos later

  16. That is indeed pretty. Is the neck pocket a standard Fender / Squier one? Also interested in the weight.
  17. I had a couple of the other China-made CV Precisions (one in Fiesta Red, the other in pale Blue) - both were absolutely stunning basses. I'm told that these 50's shape P basses are too. I really like the colour on these, and was at a festival a few weeks ago, and the bassist in one band was playing one. It sounded great. Can't believe this is still here. If I had a bass sized gap anywhere in the house..... I'd be lusting after this. GLWTS
