1. Здрасти! Whereabouts in Bulgaria are you based? My wife's from Sofia and I've spent a fair bit of time over there over the years. (Only made it to the Black Sea once, we tend to spend more time in the mountains).
2. Metallic strings for the acoustic have been available for a number of years. (Finding them used to be trickier though). for example: https://www.thomann.de/gb/pyramid_bass_ukulele_strings.htm https://www.thomann.de/gb/kala_metal_round_wound_4.htm
3. I'm not a lawyer, but did you buy it online or in person? If the former, then I would have thought you should have 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. (I see their site says "At Bass Direct, we offer a 48 hour approval period on all purchases purchased in store and 7 days for items purchased online or over the telephone. ", but I don't believe they can override statutory regs). https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-contracts-regulations
4. Stuart Clayton's series on Reading Music are good https://www.basslinepublishing.com/bass-essentials.html also Josquin Des Pres' Simplified sight Reading for Bass https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simplified-Sight-Reading-Bass-Josquin-Pres/dp/0793565189 For tabless resources for bass guitar music, Standing In The Shadows of Motown could keep you busy for a while. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Standing-Shadows-Motown-Legendary-Jamerson/dp/0881888826/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1528277392&sr=1-1&keywords=standing+in+the+shadows+of+motown
5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_1,_1974 " The bemused stare between John Cale (right) and Kevin Ayers (left) is said to be explained by the fact that Cale had caught Ayers sleeping with his wife the night before the show. "
6. The Little Drummer Boy. Always makes me think of Myra Hindley and Ian Brady
7. Apparently, he's quite good on ukulele
8. Don't knock it. The cognoscenti serrate these very highly.
9. Elton John's appearing on a lot of these. He also played on Jackson Browne's "Redneck Friend", credited as ' Rockaday Johnnie'
10. I bet the sustain on that will be amazing.
11. For an enormous chunk of the population of the planet, a bass is a guitar; end of story.
12. Or use the link in the previous thread about this
13. A couple of reasons broadcasters prefer miming http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p032vp1d

15. My daughter (9) has an Ibanez Mikro which is probably still too large for her. (Doesn't stop her though ) On a slight tangent, does anyone have any recommendations for a decent strap for a short 9 year old? Every one I've seen leaves the bass round her ankles.
16. How about https://www.bbc.co.uk/proms ?
17.
S'good, and still funny, but parody of the sort can only be produced after the original, not before, the point being that Sgt Pepper's was there first. The mockery (and tributes...) came afterwards, when it's too late; the ground had already been broken. There are many pianists that perform some piece or other 'in the style of' Handl, Mozart, Prokofiev then Bartok (other composers are available...). Entertaining, but those composers are still as great, simply because they created their own recognisable style, as did the Beatles in their own domain.
Agree 100%. One of the reasons the parody works is because the original it is based on is so instantly identifiable.
18. Not a patch on these guys https://youtu.be/FqkGFvVXfsE (I'll get my coat)
19.
I've just bought this and it seems very good. https://www.amazon.c...96390558&sr=1-1
+1 (She also has a course available from her website https://arisbassblog...oaching-course/ which uses the book as a basis).
