  1. It's a monosynth so no. It's strictly one note at a time.
  2. One thing to watch out for is the nature of the padding on these. If you have instruments with a nitro finish, these don't play nicely with the plasticisers used in some formulations.
  3. Typing <name of song> tempo in Google generally gets you in the ballpark
  4. As indeed was most of the audience in London (at least that's the way it seemed). πŸ™‚
  5. Saw them in London on Saturday. Last saw him live in November 1977 at the Rainbow. Absolutely agree re the drummer.
  6. I bet someone's coiled and ready to spring on this one.
  7. I'd hazard a guess that it's a tad on the sharp side.
  8. Sadly, the same also applies to the sound of a poorly played bass guitar.
  9. Whatever you get make sure it's setup properly and I'd suggest very low gauge strings.
  10. The Ibanez Mikro is another short scale worth considering.
  11. I was really impressed with the Wilcock instruments. (My daughter was too. She's been on at me about this one all week)
  12. Ralph McTell - Hill of Beans The Rails - Cancel The Sun Lesley Duncan - Lesley Step Lightly
  13. Something we can all agree on I think.
  14. Don't think so. Unless she coloured her hair when I wasn't looking. This one's mine.
  15. I'm sure someone would come along complaining that they were being too loud. πŸ˜€
  16. Just to add my 0.02 dollars worth. I generally preferred the new venue. The volume levels were high at times, but I felt they were less than what I've experienced at Olympia . The one caveat to this would be the somewhat bizarre placement of the 'Tone zone' in the main hall. I tried to sit in on some of these sessions, but I couldn't follow them at all. Conditions in the workshop rooms were somewhat claustrophobic at times, but not as bad as the 'black hole of SBL' that we had at Olympia over the last couple of years. The main thing I did notice was the significantly larger number of kids at the show. (Quick thanks to 'Jean-Luc' on the Chowny stand and the guys on the Wilcock stand who were only to happy to let my 11 year old daughter try out a number of the instruments (at a low volume or over headphones I hasten to add πŸ™‚).
  17. End of the Rainbow - Richard Thompson? No, maybe not. (Not bass driven). πŸ˜€ Congratulations
  18. In the past, it's just been a gig/jam at the local pub, so probably just a walk in job.
  19. Teacher's Pet or Stick It To The Man - School of Rock
  20. +1 for the Ibanez Mikro. My daughter got one when she was 8. (Now just turned 11). Didn't really take to it for a year, but is now going for her Grade 4 exams and auditioning for School of Rock the Musical. The difficult part is finding a decent strap that's small enough. I'd definitely recommend finding a decent teacher, the parent/child dynamic doesn't always make for the best learning experience. πŸ™
  21. I'm just trying not to think of a 'guy' with a 40" waist wearing loons.😬
