11.
Wenge, i would assume yours is wenge too, unless it's some sort of custom shop/one off?
No, mine is Ebony and it wasn't a special order. Got it from the bass centre in Wapping in 2000 and there were three to choose from, all with Ebony boards:
 12. Buckeye burl is amongst my favourite finishes

 14.
Somewhere in darkest north east England there is a very pretty piece of ash with my name on it. It's shaped, coincidentally enough, like a Precision bass. So, I have a blank Precision body, and although I'll be more than happy to let the builder in question do everything pretty much as Leo did 60 years ago, I'm considering a few minor deviations from the traditional. Anyone got any interesting ideas? Chris
How about a different name on the headstock
 15.
Sansamp/Tone Hammer (or other DI type pedal) is the easiest way with great sound. Personally if I had the extra cash, a Markbass F1 would be in my collection. Very small, very light, and a tight punchy tone.
I have a Markbass F500 as my 'back up' - and sometimes I use it anyway as it is a great amp
 16.
Id choose the Markbass over the Genz Shuttle, but thats just me. It 'sounds' much fuller and they rate the wattages a little more normally with Markbass so its seems louder despite being rated lower!
+1
 17. Welcome aboard

 22.
It's taken me ages to find this thread! I just wanted to share a few images I snapped on my phone yesterday evening. My 1978 all original Mocha, My 1989 MIJ (with replaced CIJ neck) tobacco sunburst and my 2006 orange anniversary model. I also own the 51RI but didn't have a 4th stand to put it on! Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone thought the collection lacked maple (my 89 P-bass was maple until Wednesday).
Nice
